Just a reminder, especially in this wild time we live in. DO NOT INSTALL WORK MDM ON YOUR PERSONAL DEVICE.
If your work requires Microsoft Intune or similar MDM, to get email/teams/slack. don't accept it. It opens your device up for them to access private data and disable/delete your phone (even if they say they wont, they can)

JIT isn't just for games! I just ran Arch Linux, with sound, on my iPhone! I used VoiceOver screen recognition to read the screen, then used espeak once I got that installed. I couldn't figure out how to enable Speakup, so I'll leave that for future me to tinker with. I'd be curious to know if any other blind people have used UTM, on the Mac maybe, and have some Windows VM's or a Windows install ISO that talks. I can probably only handle up to Windows 7 or so on this iPhone. But it would be cool to see if it's possible!

Are you #blind and need to share your #iPhone or #iPad's screen and Voiceover #audio on #Zoom calls?
Join the zoom call and initiate screen share from the PC, go to the Advanced Tab, select to share iPhone/iPad screen via Airplay, find Screen Mirroring in Control Center, Select Zoom, and restart Voiceover.

Some (out of scope) fun-fact about #deltatauri: It only took me like 3 hours to get it running on #iPhone

@TauriApps is really easy for making #crossplatform apps.

Though of course the devil is in the detail, it would still need quite some native integration work to make it useable for normal users, so currently it is not a goal for us. So it won't replace our native #deltachat_ios app any time soon ;)

20% of the work for 80% of the visible result 😅

Okay, let's try this out. Are there any accessible and free RSS feed readers for iOS? Perhaps those with a minimalist, simple-to-use design? I would like to learn how to use those, and would be glad for your input and suggestions. Thank you. #RSS #Accessibility #IOS #iPhone

Can anyone recommend a good #accessible #RSS feed reader for #iPhone that does well with both text and audio #RSSFeeds? I recently subscribed to The Old Reader (theoldreader.com) and like how it lets you add text RSS feeds, #podcasts, and #YouTube channels, and I'm looking for a good app for it on my phone. I've tried #lire, but it doesn't seem to work well with podcasts.

Apple letos po letech tvrde blokady zavedl standardni system web notifikaci v PWA. Teoreticky.

Naimplementuju service-worker. API Push Notifickaci. Server. Vyzkousim to v Chromu (Safari neumoznuje localhost testy). Vsecko funguje. Zkousim to jeste lokalne ve standlone appce v Android emulatoru. Vsecko funguje.

Pushnu. A na iPhone nic. Hrabu se kodem. Zkousim to vicekrat. A nic.

Propojim iPhone s Macem. Otevru service-worker konzoli v Safari. A najednou to FUNGUJE! 🤬

Yet another reason not to update your iOS and Watch OS yet. Early releases always seem to be full of bugs, and this one sounds horrible. At this rate, I’ll be waiting for iOS 17.2.

Hello! I would like to invite everyone to join the #Accessible #Apple community on Discord. Now to some FAQ that I guess will be asked over and over.
Q: There's only one administrator and that's you.
A: Yeah, but there's no point as there's literally noone else there, yet.
Q: Where are the rules?
A: They are not existent yet. Just please be a human.
Q: What's the point if there's AppleVis?
A: AppleVis was, and still is a great resource if it comes to stuff like APp directories, curated list of resources, podcasts ETC, however the forum features are suboptimal, especially for mobile usage. I have spoken to many people who are newcomers to the #Apple ecosystem and using the AppleVis website turned out to be harder than using their shiny new device itself.

Please keep in mind that the server is in a test stage, many things can happen, including channel deletions/additions, moderation appointments or server deletion in case there's no real interest. If you have any suggestions how could I improve it or if you would like to help me moderate, please reach out.
I kindly ask everyone to boost it to gauge interest. #accessibility #a11y #blind

Inspired by the creative use of some nifty JAWS scripting and the power of iOS shortcuts as demonstrated by @IllegallyBlind, I have decided to try my hand at creating something similar for NVDA and I think I've succeeded. Note that I'm fairly new at this and by no means a coder so this is the simplest of simple, in fact, I'm still quite amazed that it works, actually.
What we need:
1. The NVDA Speech Logger addon available at:
github.com/opensourcesys/speec…
2. The following iOS shortcut:
icloud.com/shortcuts/999808bd1…
How to use:
1. Install both: the addon in your NVDA and the shortcut in your shortcuts respectively.
2. In NVDA's settings head over to the Speech Logger category and set the output path to your Dropbox root (that's what the shortcut assumes you're using, feel free to modify as needed);
3. Start logging the local speech with the assigned gesture (by default NVDA+alt+l);
4. Assuming the shortcut is configured properly (Dropbox authorized and all that jazz), launch it and a viewer will pop up with the fresh version of the log file at the time.
One nuissance I've found with this is that the viewer overlay will not surround the VO gestures so you need to focus it first through exploration before you can start reading the log. Also the gestures for the first and last item on the screen will move you to whatever else should be on your screen right now so you have to explore again to close the viewer. I assume that's a VO bug.
Also bear in mind that, while logging, anything your PC says will ultimately land in a regular text file and nothing apart from your Dropbox account is protecting it. Use with caution.
Feel free to suggest feedback.

For those using Braille Screen Input on the iPhone, did you know that there are navigation gestures now? You can move around the text by character, word, or line. Here is how it is done.
1, In Braille Screen Input, hold one finger down on any dot. You must keep that finger down during the whole process.
2, It will make a couple of beeps, then say, Exploring mode. This is the mode it has to be in, in order to move the cursor around. If you left your finger off the dot, it will leave exploring mode, so again, keep it held down.
3, Here is the 3 gestures needed. They all use 2 fingers.
2 finger flick up and down moves between navigation types; character, word, or line.
2 finger swipe to the left, moves cursor forward or right by character, word, or line.
2 finger swipe to the right, moves cursor backwards or left by character, word, or line.
This is been demonstrated on several podcast, here is a link to one of those demonstrations. #iPhone #BrailleScreenInput #navigatingText #PodcastLink overcast.fm/+mZq2BorXc/42:30
