@adam You might be interested to know that I completely replaced the Bell Gigahub modem without any issues this morning. The process is perfectly accessible, other than needing someone to read the ONT ID off the back of your bell modem. You need a router or switch with an SFP+ port. You also need a fan or other active cooling for the fiber module; they run at about 90 degrees. Then I purchased my x-onu-sfpp from fibermall. Cool stuff. Glad you're off that garbage modem. You should notice a huge increase in connection stability. I have two WAS-110 SFP+ modules, so when i upgrade the 8311 firmware, I just pull the fiber, plug it into the second one, connection comes right back up, then I do the firmware upgrade, and then swap the fiber back when its done.

I’m running whatever FIBERMALL put on it. It claims to be 8311 community firmware. And its web updater says it’s up to date with the latest release from 2024.
I thought I was going to just get up and make a bunch of new AT-SPI releases, but no such luck. I check my email and find that someone tested my latest fix and found that, for Bengali, Orca isn't reading all characters as they are typed. It isn't clear to me if this is a regression or just a bug that has been there all along and that I didn't fix, and I was going to backport my fix to the old stable branches, so now I have to figure out the answer to that before I can proceed.

Abhängig von Deiner Installation wirst Du an einer dieser Stellen fündig werden.
Das kommt bei mir auch ab und zu vor, vor allem wenn ich lange nicht online war. Beim zweiten oder dritten Aufruf des Profils funktioniert es dann wieder, daher vermute ich etwas mit Timeout und stückweise nachgeladene Beiträge nach langer Abwesenheit.

Okay, fine. I caved. I Preordered an iPhone 17 Pro today. I have never been less excited about ordering a phone. I will never stop being bitter that i can't get a small iPhone anymore. I decided on the pro over the 17 because of the slightly larger battery and I figured the fancy camera might be helpful for Aira, Be My Eyes and all the other blindy related stuff I do with the camera. By the time I got in, the delivery date was Sep. 25 so I have a couple weeks to try to get happy about my big ass phone.
You're not going to be happy about it until it's in your hands, then after about three hours, max three days, it just becomes the new norm. That's just how it is. We get used to it. Even more so given that you spent your money on it, so you force yourself to like it and eventually, it's not even forced, it just is what it is.
I also settled on a Pro line. I find it's a good compromise of battery life and the phone size... Max would be fine but it's not always a good fit for my wear! :)
