Konečně už #Pixel6 bude umět 5G sítě v CZ. U #TMO by to již mělo jít zapnout v nastavení.

Is there any chance we can encourage you to trend #NVIDIA when that's the company you mean, please? I know what their NASDAQ handle is, but #NVDA is much more widely known as the name of the screen reader we make and the #NVDA hashtag is very widely used for the screen reader. It will save both our communities polluting each other's feeds. If you'd like to find out more about the screen reader, our website is nvaccess.org/ - Thank you!

I made a (well-coordinated) LED tote and crossbody bag using the technique of 3D printing translucent tiles onto tulle and inserting them through corresponding holes in the bags' front panels. I sewed long zippers in the lining of both bags to make it easy to access the interior, and attached a flexible LED string behind the tiles with hot glue. A #Pixelblaze controller inside each bag makes it easy to run synchronized patterns. I'll be writing up a "how to" guide on them for @makemagazine.

wait so what you’re saying is a state like saudi arabia could use its investment fund to strategically destabilize entire industries by financing and encouraging the centralization of assets and intellectual property, and then rug-pulling?

These kinds of little details and putting love into every corner of the experience are what makes working on @elementary OS so rewarding for me. Also, welcome back to Marius!

It's a real shame that Reddit seems to care this little about the community that rather than making an effort to talk to developers and moderators and apologize for how this was handled, they'd rather just wall themselves off and and dare users to keep going. theverge.com/2023/6/13/2375955…

As Juneteenth approaches, I find myself filled with reflection more than celebration. This has not been a good year for my family or myself. It's been a battle against racism, flat out, in workplaces and in public services.

Racism is frustrating. It isn't something that I can opt-in or opt-out of either. It's ever present and insidious. It is a drain on mental and physical health.

I don't normally link to Vox, but I read this article and was like "yup" - vox.com/race/23739082/discrimi…

Sentences that would probably ruin your morning if you made CPUs at Samsung: “I have a strong suspicion that Samsung (or whoever designed this particular chip) messed up their store forwarding, and accidentally forwarded the entire register without clearing the upper bits.”

lightning talks; #NeverWorkInTheory
All 22 videos from It Will Never Work in Theory's April 2023 lightning talks are now online at neverworkintheory.org/ along with the speakers' slides and English transcripts. (Translations into Español are being posted as they come in, and we'd welcome translations into other languages as well.) We'd be grateful if you could share widely: this brings the total number of talks to 52, so you and your colleagues, friends, and students can watch one a week :-)

Inspired by @FreakyFwoof's post, I've been looking for a high quality version of this track for years. It's a piece of music from the Windows 95 Interactive CD Sampler, and all I know about it is that the file name's "transpor.wav". I believe it could be from a library music collection since the "kidworld" file is.
It's ridiculously low quality, but I love the floaty spacey feel of it.
BTW the Kidworld music is "It's Catching" by Helene Muddiman.

My greatest thanks to the #Tusky developers who added these awesome usability improvements

LOAD MORE used to have a white background which was the same as toots. Which made it very easy to scroll past without noticing, resulting in timeline disorientation. The change to a grey background means I haven't missed a single one today. It's also subtle enough that it's not annoying 👍

Newly discovered bonus! Alt-text editing is now truly awesome in my opinion! 👍👍

#Tusky Rocks!

How many acts of terrorism has this mass surveillance prevented?

Wait... are we still supposed to be terrified about terrorism?

Oh right, the government was almost overthrown on january 6th! How could I forget! That was prevented by mass surveillance from government agencies picking up a hidden network of rightwing communication that coordinated the terrorist attack...

..*checks notes*

...oh, nvm they didn't do shit and the terrorists organized in plain sight?
