Fedora Linux now permits AI assisted contributions (code, docs and more), provided there is proper disclosure and transparency

Bad decision Fedora but it was expected when IBM/RedHat is basically fund it. Maybe that is what corporate client of RHEL/IBM wants. IDK. There are many other distros that bans AI/LLM but many contributions of Fedora ends up in upstream projects like Kernel or DEs.

Human code reviewers of Fedora project can only address questions of quality, fix security issues, or address missing functionality in AI code slop. It cannot answer questions about legality or licensing or even trace origin like:

> Where did that AI code come from?
> What licensing does AI created slop follows? Can you put it under GPL?
> So who actually wrote the code? Why person submitting putting their name on top of it?

The answer is: Nobody knows.

KDE Plasma 6.5 released

KDE is on a roll lately, and keeps on rolling with today's release of KDE Plasma 6.5. As the project itself notes, this release focuses on relatively small improvements, refinements, and other niceties, without making any massive changes. With Linux desktops taking accessibility more seriously lately than ever before, I want to focus on the accessibility improvements first.

Wow! Its alarming to find out that something is making a sound, and you're not hearing it.
Someone sure can though, over a VoIP link, over an air distance of three feet, with a 57dB noise floor, through a Rode NT1-A, connected to a Mackie ProFX 12 V3.
It seems that something in my environment is constantly squealing at some untold high frequency. I'm not hearing it. They did.
This individual shall remain nameless, but they sure as hell have a gosh darn good ear! And mine suck!
Now I have to find this unheard squeal.

The GI Bill is often held up as one of America’s crowning achievements.

A symbol of fairness, opportunity, and gratitude toward those who served.

But that story, like so many others in this country, is a carefully curated myth.

The reality is that the GI Bill was designed to benefit white men.

It was written, structured, and enforced through systems, institutions, and policies that ensured whiteness remained the gateway to prosperity.

EDIT: Surprise! Trump lied. These may or may not all be willing donations.

🤬 some of them, but in the end, probably all.

"Apple, Amazon, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, Google, Coinbase, Comcast and Meta are just some of the major companies who have made donations to build President Donald Trump’s proposed 90,000-square-foot ballroom."

While I was setting up the flux servers, I thought about something. Why not bring back community podcasts...Sero had this initially and I loved it. As a curious 12 year old kid, I was able to pick up sooooooooo much knowledge with just that app.
That being said, let me know what you think of this idea. If you would like your podcast listed in the initial release in just a few days, please get in contact. Don't have a podcast? You can still help by boosting this post! The more podcasts listed, the better

I hate atonal music. I hate studying atonal music. I do not know why we treat atonal music with such unnecessary reverence when it is, for all intents and purposes, a math problem made into music, which is the absolute opposite of why any person who isn’t a raging egotist would compose, perform, or study music. either way, unless I am required to perform it, don’t expect me to be a champion of the stuff.

New: a $60 mod to Meta's Ray-Ban glasses disables the privacy LED light. This is supposed to light when people are filming with the glasses. We bought the mod, verified it works. Now you can never be sure whether someone wearing Meta Ray-Bans is filming you or not

RE: mastodon.social/@jwz/115421289…

The social contract that made the internet possible is breaking down. Has already broken down? It's in bad shape, in any event. I don't know if there's anything we can do to stop this at this point. Just throw sand at the clankers and hope they get stuck, I guess.
