It started as a simple idea — teaching colleagues how to use OpenStreetMap. A few sessions later, more than a hundred people had learned not just how to map, but why it matters.

A woman (60s?) pulls over and offers a lift to an international student walking down her quiet inner city street. It's bucketing with rain and he at first looks confused and then accepts gratefully. They zoom off down the hill into town, safe and dry.
A young human (8?) has spotted a shopping trolley parked in a no parking zone. This is clearly NOT correct. Scowling, he marches forward and stomps it back to the trolley return before rejoining Mum with a vindicated air. Not all carpark heroes wear capes.
A tiny human (1?) is sitting on Mum's knee while Mum talks to friends. Tiny Human is watching the faces around her intently, mirroring their expressions. First a frown. Then a smile. Then a BIG chortle when everyone laughs. She's getting the hang of this!
A wiry man (60s?) in a plaid shirt, jeans and work boots is waiting in line for coffee, talking on his phone. He says: "Ya right love? Flat tire? Yeah. I'll be there in a minute. I'll get ya a coffee and'll come sort it out. Don't you worry. Love ya." He hangs up and orders two coffees to go.
I did something similar for a Distro and changed all occurrences of 1000^x to 1024^x. But also changed the suffixes from KB, MB, GB, ... to proper IEC 80000-13 units (KiB, MiB, GiB).

@BorrisInABox I shut the laptop down, took the battery out (yes this thing actually has an easily removable battery), drained the capacitors, put the battery back in, rebooted and it hasn't happened again.
@BorrisInABox Its not the laptop battery we're talking about but the clock battery on the motherboard. Its almost certainly that battery that was gone. In my case if the machine was powered off for more than an hour it would cause the BIOS to reset. Luckily on most modern systems its only the clock that's impacted.
@andrew Yep. Depending on the laptop, it could be a matter of seconds with no power before the clock is lost, regardless of the state of the main battery.

Leider können wir uns nicht darauf verlassen, daher würd ich vor dem Teilen immer einen kurzen Blick in die Bildbeschreibung werfen.
Klar gibt's unterschiedliche Vorlieben bezüglich Länge und Detailgrad einer Bildbeschreibung, aber eine Bildbeschreibung zu fälschen und nur ein Wort reinzuschreiben, ist einfach nicht ok.
As it is still dark these days when I ride to work I noticed how many car drivers are just watching instagram while driving. Not only while waiting for traffic light or in a jam. While actually moving on the street. Not passively, but they are actively swiping for next videos and stories. Not only some bolt drivers, but also dads and mums having kids on back seats. The phone is shining and it's clearly visible through rear window. It's just addiction as any other - dangerous.
In the standard libc API set there are multiple functions provided that do ASCII numbers to integer conversions. They are handy and easy to use, but also error-prone and quite lenient in what they accept and silently just swallow.

I definitely know that I live in a bubble by being here on Mastodon and following the people I follow, but nonetheless even with my friends that are not tech savvy or don’t care/know about Linux, all the recent megacorp tech announcements have been met with lukewarm reactions at best, skepticism, and sometimes disdain. The AI fuelled emptiness we’re experiencing is affecting everyone, alongside the realization that even “good” companies don’t step it up and stand for what should be normal
So it’s extremely refreshing to witness a tech announcement that mentions no AI, it doesn’t include a “and we collaborated with these despicable people but their code is too valuable to use”, and it focuses on making a product that people want, brings real benefits, and makes a strong stance on future improvements and opportunities. More of this please.

Guten Morgen! Heute geht es auf eine lange Zugfahrt. Ich fahre nach Wien zu meiner Schwester, sie ein langes Wochenende lang besuchen. Ich habe sie seit Weihnachten 2022 nicht mehr gesehen, also jetzt fast drei Jahre. Und ich freue mich wie sonstwas auf das Wochenende mit ihr!
Taxi und Abholservice haben wunderbar geklappt, ich sitze an Gleis 14 und warte auf meinen Zug. Ksher ist er pünktlich. Zum Glück muss ich nicht umsteigen.
Der Einstieg hat wunderbar geklappt, und ich sitze auf meinem reservierten Platz. Es ist ein einzelner Fensterplatz, ich habe also zum Glück niemanden neben mir sitzen. Es ist aber doch sehr voll, und ich trage natürlich einen Mund-Nasen-Schutz, damit mich andere nicht anstecken. Aber den Platz um mich herum ohne Menschen zu haben ist definitiv auch hilfreich.
Bauarbeiten bei Fürth, und vorausfahrende Güterzüge, und schwups haben wir in Regensburg 35 Minuten Verspätung. Mal gucken, wieviel er davon evtl. noch wieder rausholen kann. Nächster Halt ist Plattling. Ich war noch nie in Plattling, glaub' ich.
So wie es jetzt aussieht, holt der gar nichts auf. Wir haben Linz mit + 36 Minuten verlassen, und auch die Ankunft in Wien Meidling, meinem Zielbahnhof, steht auf + 36. Bis dahin nur noch ein Zwischenstop, st. Pölten. Draußen ist es nach Aussagen umsitzender Fahrgäste neblig. Bald ist Sonnenuntergang, und meine Augen sehen schon kein Tageslicht mehr. Zu wenig für meine Wahrnehmungsschwelle.
Noch ein paar Stunden, dann ist das Wochenende mit meiner Schwester schon wieder vorbei. Ich bin am Donnerstagabend angekommen, und wir hatten ein tiefgehendes, gemütliches, entspanntes und erfüllendes Wochenende zusammen. Wir hatten uns seit Weihnachten 2022 nicht gesehen. Das lag vor allem an den Lebensumständen, diversen Erkrankungen hüben wie drüben, und der Entfernung. (1/2)

Die Zugbindung wurde etwa 20 Minuten vor Abfahrt aufgehoben. So wie es gerade behauptet wird, erreiche ich meinen Anschlusszug in Nürnberg nicht mehr und müsste eine Stunde später fahren. Mal abwarten, ob der andere Zug evtl. auch verspätet ist. Aber es sieht definitiv heute nicht nach einer störungsfreien Reise aus.
Die Zugbegleiterin meinte eben, trotz der Verspätung könnte ich den Hamburger Zug in Nürnberg noch erreichen. Er würde direkt gegenüber stehen, das sollte klappen. Man darf gespannt sein.
Ja, ich habe ihn tatsächlich noch bekommen! Sie haben auf mich gewartet. Dadurch, dass ich MSZ angemeldet hatte, haben sie bewirkt, dass der Zug wartet. Ich sitze auf meinem Platz und bin voraussichtlich halbwegs pünktlich in Hamburg.
Wir haben zurzeit eine Verspätung von etwa 10 Minuten. Dafür dass es zwischendurch so aussah, dass ich diesen Anschlusszug gar nicht erwischen und so eine Stunde verlieren würde, finde ich das echt OK. Wir sind 17 : 50 Uhr ungefähr in Harburg und dann etwa 10 Minuten Später am Hauptbahnhof. Und dann ab ins Taxi und nach Hause.
Es hat so geklappt wie erhofft. Die Abholung durch den Mobilitätsservice war direkt an meiner Ausstiegstür, wir haben sofort ein Taxi mit einem netten Fahrer gefunden, und ich war vor 18 : 30 Uhr zu Hause. Jetzt ist die Abendroutine erledigt, und ich bin aufs Bett gefallen. Es war ein langer Tag, aber eine tolle Reise. ❤️

It is then important to have a user-friendly item ID (e.g.; `title-of-my-publication-abc123`), which is usually done by the software from the title.
If you want to change it, you can use `li pubsub rename`.
