Dear Fediverse / Mastodon

I need your help.

I stumbled upon the website of a French consultancy who worked on LibreOffice accessibility, but I cannot find it anymore.

Any idea?

Boost appreciated :boost_love:

Thanks!

I switched to LibreOffice years ago and never looked back.

I understood that many developers had moved to LibreOffice, and OpenOffice had since stalled?

In terms of accessibility, LibreOffice continues to improve their export-to-PDF engine. They can now generate a PDF that is often pretty much compliant with PDF/UA.

Though I still use Microsoft Office for client work.

I'm curious to try OnlyOffice. I wonder how it compares?

The focus on Freedom and taking control of your data is also imperative to #LabPlot, an open source Data Analysis and Visualization software.

It supports multiple file formats and the ODS import support will be added in the next release :-)

Last month, we had the #LibreOffice Conference 2023 in Bucharest, Romania! Here's a recap, with photos and videos from the awesome event: blog.documentfoundation.org/bl… #foss #OpenSource

#LibreOffice posted an article titled "WE WANT TO USE OUR USERS PERSONAL DATA" at design.blog.documentfoundation…

LibreOffice was promoting a data collaboration with a company called polypoly. That article appears to contradict this post.

In the last entry in the comments section of the article the author states the project is on hold.

@libreoffice, what is the status of this project with polypoly? Is it still on hold or has it been cancelled?

Free Software – like #LibreOffice – isn't about zero-cost (as nice as that is). The focus is on freedom to use your computer as you wish, and take back control of your data. We were recently at Software Freedom Day in Delhi, for instance: blog.documentfoundation.org/bl… #foss #opensource

Some very vocal #LibreOffice devs consider that client-side window decorations (for example #GTK HeaderBar kind of things) are "NOT a #UX #design issue", and that it's all about the burden of maintaining that across different OSes/platforms.

Yeah… I might buy their argument if LibreOffice had the guts to actually commit to only one (or two) UI layouts and toolkits, instead of maintaining *seven* UI layout choices, to begin with 🙄️

YES!! *Every* major program needs a search function.

I wish it was a standard function of all Linux DEs/WMs/Compositors like it is on the Mac.
