SVT-AV1-PSY is the Scalable Video Technology for AV1 (SVT-AV1 Encoder and Decoder) with perceptual enhancements for psychovisually optimal AV1 encoding. The goal is to create the best encoding implementation for perceptual quality with AV1.
We've already implemented a couple of unique features not present in mainline that do appear to produce BD-rate gains on a number of clips already!! Please check it out!

I conducted research to determine who now owned all of Bell Labs' patents and copyrights and discovered that it was Nokia. I was able to submit a form for licensing requests via their website and explained the nature of my channel and the copyright problem I had encountered while trying to showcase their record on YouTube.
To my pleasant surprise, Nokia was incredibly accommodating and granted me a no-charge lifetime license, on the condition that I add the message "Courtesy of Nokia Corporation and AT&T Archives" to the video, which I was more than willing to do.
Unfortunately, this process required me to edit the video and re-upload it. However, it is now up once again, and the copyright has been filed with the claimant, including all details of the license I received from Nokia.

#Whisper is an #openSource #speechRecognition model written in #Python by #OpenAI. I’ve just seen it in action. Extract an #mp3 from a video, run it through Whisper, and it turns every spoken word into text. It even does a very decent job in #Danish. Perfect for subtitling #TV and #video. I am very impressed.

I admire the engineering that makes all the parts work so good together. For example, tape loading is done with one motor that is attached to a gear that can be seen in the top right corner. Thanks to different sensors and the rotary encoder that is connected to the gear, the VHS machine can also check if it is in a valid state or not and by that prevent tape damage.
