I love that you add Basic text #Transcript for your audio clips man, I think everybody should do that if they can to help out our #Deaf and #HardOfHearing friends, and anyone else who can't listen to the audio for whatever reason. But Especially #Blind people as we tend to post a lot of #audio and because so many of us push for #AltText
we could stand to spread some of that awareness around.

I think it's really cool that Black American Sign Language is in some ways more conservative than the kind of #ASL you learn at Gallaudet University.

Other ASL varieties use a lot of handshapes influenced by English spelling. But black ASL has kept more of the original handshapes, because black #deaf schools didn't get hit so hard by the oralist reformers who made war on ASL.

Just learned about this really cool theme park in Texas specifically designed for kids with disabilities. Apparently this guy was having tons of trouble finding a theme park able to accommodate his daughter Morgan who has multiple disabilities. Eventually, he soled his successful business and spent $50,000,000 to build his own.
It's got 25 different attractions, tons of events, thousands of positive reviews ETC.
