In den 2010er Jahren begann ich, eine öffentliche Einrichtung von MSOffice/ MSWindows auf LibreOffice/ ubuntu Linux umzustellen. Ca. 30 Systeme, mehrere Server, Office-Arbeitsplätze, Audio-Video-Workstations, mobile Radio-Sendeeinheiten

Der Prozess hat einige Jahre gedauert.

Wir haben dort in offenen Bereichen mit (einerseits nicht Technik/ Softwareaffinen und andereseits mit besonders Technik/ Softwareinteressierten) Menschen aller Altersgruppen vom Kleinkind bis zu Senioren gearbeitet. Der Linux-Desktop war damals schon kein Problem mehr...außer bei den besonders Schlauen, die dann sagten, bei Windows geht das aber so...🙄
Auch in einer anderen Einrichtung hab ich seit den 90igern alles auf #OpenSource aufgebaut, von Office über Server bis zu Spezialanwendungen. Einzige Ausnahmen sind bei @komin@bildung.social ein Druckertreiber zum Bedrucken von CD's, der nicht für Linux verfügbar ist und eine Sparkassenanwendung...ansonsten haben wir in den Jahrzehnten viel Lizenzkosten gespart 🙂.

Also, die Entwicklung ist doch schon lange absehbar gewesen. Wenn man jetzt erst damit anfängt...

Excited to hear about this. More than willing to pay for accounts, assuming it has the following features:

1) Servers hosted in a privacy-respecting country (ie. not the US) - I believe @ryanleesipes has already mentioned it will probably be Germany
2) Bring your own domain support - I believe it's been mentioned this will be a launch feature as well
3) SSO support (SAML/OIDC)

Any idea when the beta will launch?

I watched the Netflix #series #Adolescent. I love it.
Technically: it consists of 4 episodes, each 1 hour long, each is a (!)single take. It is a very cool decision and had very immersive effect on me.
The topic: it shows many aspects of generation differences, social network influence, social pressure.
Actors: Actors are really good, but I was especially stunned by the performance in episode 3.
