I've found @simon's next sentence in that post, "It’s also absurdly good fun", to be true in some contexts. But then maybe that fun is clouding our judgment, on both the practical dangers and ethical issues. So I think I'll continue to refrain from using LLMs, as I have for a couple of weeks now.
I think the issue with accessibility is really the lack of funds at the provincial level. The STM has a programme to improve accessibility, but it has to be put on hold as the CAQ aren’t interested in funding transit.
But I agree, I wish we could bring the system forward in time.
Funny how people who applaud the REM and criticise those who don't) go on criticising STM for lacking this and that never mention that the REM was approved on the basis of being self funded and quickly turned arround to require/demand billions in government capital funding which was diverted from other transit agencies, hence work stopped on elevators, centre CANO blue line delayed "indefinitely" and working at snail's pace etc.
@jfmezei I think it would be good for someone to do a full and proper analysis on the impact the REM had on transit development in Greater Montreal. I’m still on the fence about the whole thing as I feel transit planning is so broken in North America, this model was literally the only way we could have gotten a new railway of this scope. Was it worth the negative impacts? Not sure yet, but they need to inject money into the Metro before it collapses.
Ve středu jsem byl u našich a všechno ve studni rozebral. Potřeboval jsem koupit nový sací koš a zjistit, jestli mají v Sigmě skladem i těsnění se zpětnou klapkou pod přírubu.
Jenže mezitím šla máma ven a táta to samozřejmě „rychle vyčistil a smontoval zpět“. Takže jsem neviděl, jak vypadá to velké těsnění. 🤦
Dneska tedy opět celá demontáž potrubí ve studni, nový sací koš nasazen – a jak jinak, teče to pod přírubou. Přesně tam, kde jsem to těsnění chtěl koupit. 😅
me zitra ceka drevene viko na kamene studni. Potrebuju tam pospojkovat kable, pac mi vyhorela zasuvka. Je to sranda delat elektro spojky zaklineny ve studni. Doufam ze mi nic nespande dolu :D
@Cooba13 No hlavně pozor, ať je tam dost kyslíku. Teda jestli je to hlubší studna. Jinak já pro jistotu nechal mobil a peněženku v chatě, přeci jenom ta studna je přes 8 m hluboká a vody tam 2 metry. To by byla má smrt ta studená voda. 😀
hlubsi je, ale lezu jen asi do dvou az tri metru. Mam to u baraku, takze penezenku a mobil nepotrebuju :D studena voda je to posledni, ty zelezny pricky a nadrz s cerpadlem, kameny ze kterych je udelana a trci do cesty ... no nevim jestli bych vubec nejakou vodu zaznamenal :D
no tak hlavně hodně štěstí zítra! Náš táta takhle jednou měnil těsnění pod přírubou a když ji utahoval zpátky, praskla. Prohlásil, že má v práci průmyslové lepidlo, kterým to bude držet. Nevěřil jsem, a bohužel jsem teda měl pravdu. Takže ponaučení - prasklou přírubu neslepíš, tak utahuj opatrně :).

Dass Konzerne sie dämonisieren, zeigt nur, wie sehr sie auf Kosten der Nutzer profitieren wollen und wie kaputt ihr datengetriebenes Geschäftsmodell ist.

Just spent way too much time troubleshooting why the curl requests I got from Firefox by using "copy request to cUrl" did not work. Turns out it is a Firefox bug. For unknown reason it adds a caret "^" before each parameter separator in the query string in the curl request, breaking everything. 😞

@Tutanota Hi! I have a calendar event that I created back in December, which repeats every week. Now that we've switched to summer time, I noticed that the event's time shifted by 1 hour (from 11:00 to 12:00). I'm not sure if this is intended behavior because I personally find it confusing. People normally don't move appointments when we switch from winter to summer time and vice versa. I'm reporting this just in case.

A teď jen spekulovat, co tím google opravdu sleduje, protože kromě zmíněného "házení klacku pod nohy" mě napadají ještě dvě možnosti. Jedna vyloženě od google ďábelská (nástup OS Fuchsia na pixely) a druhá by znamenala zjednodušení (možnost spuštění vanilla mainline kernelu na pixelech). Ano jedna je šílenější než druhá, ale jsou obě protichůdné a v obou případech by na tom google mohl benefitovat.
@ozzelot Ono to i trochu zapadá. Prostě na Pixelech zavedou Fuchsii a vedle toho budou vyvíjet Android. a ve chvíli, kdy ostatní výrobci naskočej na Fuchsii protože to pro ně bude snadnější v rámci kompatibility s Google ekosystémem, tak Google nechá Android pomalu umřít. V lepším případě ho předá nějaké nadaci. Ale v tu chvíli budou mít jakékoli alternativní ROM problém a to hlavně ty linuxové, protože Fuchsia nemá linuxový kernel...

IOS 26 is going to make it possible to add ringtones using the share sheet. Tech sites are not hyping this up enough because you still have to create the ringtone, but I know lots of us know how to do that already and just need the easy way to add it to our phone without going through iTunes. And now, approximately 14 years after Apple supposedly untethered the iPhone from the computer, we have it. So now if you go to one of those ringtone sites, or someone texts you an audio file, or you’re handy with Hokusai or some other audio editor for the iPhone, you can make your own ringtones without a billion steps. Like everything else Apple has done in recently years, it’s taken so long for such a basic feature to arrive that it’s hard for me to even be excited about it, but I sure won’t miss blundering my way through iMazing.
What took them so long? That's actually a question I've been asking myself for awhile regarding Apple, such as when iOS finally got a Voiceover tutorial years after the Mac got it.
I think it is high time to remind the world about Music to Ringtone, probably the easiest way to create a ringtone out of anything with a straightforward app. On a related note, are we grownup enough by now to be allowed custom notification tones for apps?
@Piciok I just installed it, so I don't know yet, but that would be great. I also want apps to get access to system notification sounds and ringtones, so I can choose a custom WhatsApp tone for someone without being limited to the tiny number of outdated tones available.
Ahh, so I assume this app relies on Garage Band right now for adding tones without a PC, but now it won't need to? I can try it on my beta phone to see if that works. If so, that makes a really good complete solution.
Yes, it does, making you essentially avoid the not so comfortable trimming experience in GA, especially if you only use it for that. Exporting it there is optional, though and you can go straight into any app you wish.
So... You guys want me to make a ring/text tone collection for you? I've always loved the Apple ringtones and want to try making more in that style, but of course have more personality than the default options.
I guess I am the person who really never bothered with different ringtones. So to me it never mattered. I have bought exactly 2 from the store, and that's it. Just using the same ringtone for everyone, and only one different for messages. Custom ringtones are cool and all, but I am not spending 5 minutes or more setting all that up for different contacts. I have about 100, and only contact about 15. But still. I don't get the hype about custom ringtones. When I was younger, I guess I got it more but then I used android for a long while and even then I couldn't bother with custom ringtones. Guess I won't be criticising Apple on this one, I just don't care enough about it. :D
@tardis I have custom ringtones for my wife and kids because I figure if they're calling and not texting, it's important enough to warrant it, but that's about it.
@tardis @FreakyFwoof Anyone I want to hear from gets their own ringtone, because I'm not attached to my phone and sometimes it's in the other room. Everyone else gets the default tone and if I don't pick up, that's why I have voicemail.
No idea how I achieved it, but all I wanna here from is my family, and one other person. All my friends can message before calling, unless it's an emergency. I am just that anti call I guess. LOL. Which also makes me not want to bother with custom tones. I always check who calls, or call back after. Ain't going to the other room if a friend decided to call without messaging.

Duh, yeah. Only my besties call me without texting. I did that because people would call at 10PM, can't be bothered, just wanna read my book and not have to fix phones, or deal with drama, etc. And if it makes me an antisocial ass, I am sorry. But me is me.
@tardis @FreakyFwoof Oh, I get it. There are like 4 people who get to call me at all hours without losing something vital. Mostly because I know they won't unless their world's on fire. Those people have ringtones.
Yeah. My ringtone is only one, but I have caller ID announcement, plus I return calls real fast. If I read it's an unknown number, poof it goes. I had iqos which is a non-heating device brand for smoking, call like 10 times or more, got angry, and blocked every single number of theirs. Only because I let my aunt register with my number. Big mistake, never again. LOL.
I also keep my phone mostly with myself, because, don't know, phone. I like it. I like poking reddit a lot. LOL. But I seriously need a phone change, poor 13pro, it heats up. Good for winter, bad for my hands that are holding even through the case.

@x0 @freya Ive seen it complain about a file that was *exactly* 30 seconds in mp3 format, cut it down to 29, that worked, but for others, even that wasn't enough.
@freya If you want more than *30* seconds you'll still have to do that. iTunes was 40. This is apparently known to be 30. Bonus is it seems to take things other than AAC from what I've heard? Don't know yet. Don't trust my SE to handle 26 and stay afloat.
