Or really @delta ? How ? I don't get it. First it is written "add a second device", even if there is already 2 devices connected. And when I am trying to add a third device, scanning the QR gives me an error stating that this QR cannot be used to synchronize a new device.
1) yes, it's a bit a known weakness of "add second device" wording that it implies to some that you can only do two.
2) The "cannot be used to synchronize" may be an update-problem. What are the app versions of the respective two devices where multi-device setup does not work?
Latest Flathub version 2.25.3 cannot import from 2.33.1. So you need to either wait for 2.33.x to be available on Flathub or install 2.33.x desktop some other way.
I tried to open an app so I could dive into some fiction podcasts and VoiceOver jumped to 30 spaces without me touching the screen. Ich habe gestern einen Gastbeitrag von Kristina Schröder auf WELT online gelesen. Darin geht es um den Sozialstaat – und um persönliche Assistenz für behinderte Menschen. Und ehrlich gesagt: Er hat mich tief getroffen.
Denn wenn über Assistenz als „nicht mehr tragbare Kosten“ gesprochen wird, dann geht es nicht abstrakt um Haushaltszahlen. Dann geht es um mein Leben.
Assistenz ist für mich kein Luxus. Kein Extra. Kein Wunschkonzert. Assistenz ist das, was mich morgens aufstehen lässt. Was mir erlaubt zu arbeiten, Verantwortung zu übernehmen, mich einzubringen, selbstbestimmt zu leben. Ohne Assistenz wäre mein Leben kleiner. Abhängiger. Fremdbestimmt. Vielleicht sogar institutionell verwahrt statt frei.
Ich brauche Assistenz 24 Stunden am Tag, weil Behinderung keinen Feierabend kennt. Weil Notfälle keine Bürozeiten haben. Weil Würde nicht um 22 Uhr endet.
Wenn Politik und Medien darüber diskutieren, ob Menschen wie ich „zu teuer“ sind, dann erzeugt das Angst. Die Angst, dass meine Freiheit an einem Verwaltungsakt hängt. Dass mein Leben jedes Jahr neu infrage gestellt wird. Dass ich mich rechtfertigen muss, warum ich so leben darf wie andere ganz selbstverständlich.
Dabei zeigt die Geschichte etwas anderes: Stephen Hawking, Helen Keller, viele andere – ihre Leistungen waren nur möglich, weil Assistenz und Unterstützung ihnen Zugang zur Welt gegeben haben. Nicht trotz Assistenz. Sondern wegen ihr.
Ja, Assistenz kostet Geld. Aber die eigentliche Frage ist: **Was kostet es uns als Gesellschaft, wenn wir anfangen, Menschenwürde zu kürzen?**
Ich bin keine Kostenstelle. Ich bin ein Mensch. Und mein Leben ist kein Sparposten.

Nektere navstevy jsou za trest 🫣 Dlouho se vam nechce jit, ale nakonec se rozhoupete a jdete s virou, ze tentokrat, tentokrat to bude treba lepsi. Omyl jeste hur. Na onu navstevu chodim v nosenem obleceni a nejlepe po kole. Proc? No prototoze navsteva u zname je kolikrat horsi, nez navsteva hospody v casech kurackych. Minule za 1h 4x 🚬, dnes za 1h 7x🚬. 😵💫+🤢. Ja jsem tedy taky sice kourila cca pres 20 let a v hospodach velice hojne. Dochazela jsem do ,,pajzlu", kde nebylo pres dym skoro ani videt, a tak me tyhle nastevy vraci do mladi, ale zrovna ne tak jak bych cekala a chtela. Tedy po skonceni huliciho krouzku a nevolnosti manzela jsem hned letela do vany a drhla i oci 🙄 Dostala jsem to skoro ze vseho akorat z nosu a ust ne 😮💨 Tohle je proste i na me moc. Nevadi mi 🚬 venku ale v nevetrane mistnosti s takovou razanci to je humac. Priste se nevyhnu tomu, ze to budu muset rict natvrdo. Mate podobnou zkusenost?

I feel like the android keyboard is really bad with talkback at the moment. Like, really bad. This morning when I was in the car I had an issue with my Pixel Buds. I wanted to google it, but this is where the issue appeared: As you may know, typing on Android devices with Talkback is already a quite slow experience even using direct touch. But imagine even if your finger is on the proper letter, if you lift it it chooses one that is next to it basically every third letter. If you have at least some bit of imagination, this will probably be very bad in said. And let me tell you, it infact is as crappy as it sounds. I sincerely hope this is something which gets fixed as soon as possible. I already noticed it two or three days ago. If this won't be fixed, my phone simply isn't workable with and I will need to use voice messages and dictation for everything. #accessibility #a11y #google #android #pixel #googlepixel #talkback #blind
Try turning off Smart Typing (maybe the other options too) in the Corrections and Suggestions section of the Gboard settings. This has made my phone's keyboard much more responsive again. Or just switch to another keyboard such as HeliBoard.
@radiorobbe Thank you, I just turned off Smart Typing. At a first glance, it seems better now. But of course i could be wrong since I only tested it for a short while. Let's see how it works out in the next week.
That's why I gave up Android for iPhone several years ago. also the absence of a magic tap equivalent which basically makes the main function of the phone quite useless.
for me the most important is that it must answer calls in all the messengers, from bare phone to WhatsApp to Telegram to Teams to Signal, you name it. And on Android it's a freaking quest to answer a call, each and every time. It's a good system, I like its openness and stuff, but while it doesn't allow me to simply answer a simple call reliably and while it has those atrocious keyboard issues… sorry, no. #Android #Accessibility #TalkBack
@menelion Yeah I honestly can get where you're coming from. For me personally it's just easier to stick with Android. I'm more used to it, I've been using Android since my 10th birthday and never really disliked my experience. But again, I can totally get where you come from and at the end it's a matter of user preference. I appreciate to talk with someone who is not the typical "Android is meh, but I haven't tried it, but still IPhone is better" stereotype though. LOL
You'll be surprised, I come from Android, I've been using it since 2013 and still have an old Android 9 phone I use as an audio book player. I don't like Apple's closeness, I am not in their ecosystem, I just have an iPhone SE for accessibility.
@menelion I see. For me it's the other way around honestly, for a short while I used to do some things with an old IPhone 11 pro from my sister. Please let's not talk about the poor battery LOL. That's btw also the reason why I don't use it anymore. I mean I also don't see an use case for it atm anyway but yes.
Yup, typing on Android just get's worse somehow. I think if I couldn't turn off TalkBack to type I'd go crazy. I have to say though, I need to use the BSI more, that seems actually quite nice. But I wanna know how it compares to IOS.
@jonathan859 Why not just get a TV keyboard and have done with it? I hate typing on iOS/Android, it's just slow and painful. I'm interested in writing, not in some sort of "look at what I can do" game.
I really hope SteamOS, the popularity of handhelds like the Deck and Asus ROG Ally series, and eventually the Steam Machine lead to more developers officially supporting Linux - particularly developers of multiplayer games.
I knew I wasn't crazy. Because AMD force updated me my rog ally's been having some stupid ass memory issues. It used to run games fine and now it's really struggling even with something as basic as hearthstone. I guess I'll be figuring out how to roll these drivers back without breaking anything.
@ToniBarth It's the older one, not the XBox one. the Rog with 24 gigs of ram. I've got 8 reserved for my GPU. Last of us two ran fine without the updated drivers. it bitched about it, but it ran, I'd take the slight complaining over whatever this is. Hearthstone's graphics are as low as I can get them, I experience random stutters, slight but they happen, ram useage is way higher than it has any reason to be even with apps like discord and whatsApp shut down.
Weird. Did you check Reddit or other platforms where users usually come up with diagnostics or solutions rather quickly if they figured out what is going on?
@ToniBarth I did and it's a thing people are having issues with, I just haven't found a good set of step-by-step instructions on how to fix this. I've found youtube videos, but I do better with text because most videos like that are typically, I'll click here, I'll do this, and here. or. this. isn't very descriptive.
