I get the feeling that the band Terra Glitch is actually AI generated music. It's really well done, so I'm not sure, but the fact that all of their albums were released in the last 18 months makes the idea that it is not AI less plausible to me...

They are my new favorite band... I'm just not sure. Maybe very prolific?

If I were on #spotify, I’d cancel my subscription/account immediately.

King Gizzard pulled their music from the platform so Spotify has replaced it with #AI knockoffs of their music. As if paying almost nothing for streaming wasn’t evil enough, they’re now using LLMs trained on stolen content to pay artists nothing at all.

I did something exciting this week! I relaunched my company website: futureethics.ai

It says, boldly, that we want to build ethical and sustainable pro-labor businesses that are pro people and the earth. It's scary to put that out in words because I feel like such an optimistic or naive person. But I don't know how else I can be.

I also started a Mastodon server just for work: @index

Over there, I will talk more about work, ideas, ethics, provide updates.

This post should give you an idea of how I'm structuring this: futureethics.ai/our-2026-busin…

#PSA: If someone says they accidentally reported you, it's a scam.

If someone says you need to verify your Mastodon account, it's a scam.

If someone says you need to change the email address on your account, it's a scam.

If someone tries to lure you off-platform to Discord or Telegram, it's a scam.

If someone jumps into your replies or DMs with a mutual aid request, it's a scam.

If someone from mastodon.social sends you an unsolicited DM, it's a scam.

---

Telltale signs of a scam:

- wants you to move off-site
- wants you to change account settings
- wants you to click something
- unsolicited private interactions
- new account
- under ~20 followers and over ~5:1 follow ratio
- sense of urgency
- appeals to your compassion
- piggybacks on a trending post or event

Anyone on here also use Bluesky? I signed up back in June but am really just starting to use it regularly. I'm not giving up on Mastodon, but Bluesky is where a lot of news orgs migrated and I miss having those news sources.
I should also note that Bluesky has really great hashtag alt text settings, but I have not come across anyone who uses them yet. It makes me wonder why did that catch on over here, and not there? Is there just something about mastodon users that makes them more inclined to care about #Accessibility?
