@Bri It seems like their focus is really on the invisible interface, the GUI has lots of access key conflicts and for instance I can't tab to reply on the notifications buffer, it just has a post button and dismiss button.
@Bri Also, I can't figure out, when I get mentions, I'm hearing mention sounds plus what sounds maybe like a added to favorites sound? Or is there a general event sound? It's like 3 sounds at once and hard to discern.

I've gone through @bce 's product purchase process, including product browsing, configuration, adding to cart, viewing cart, and checkout pages to make sure they are accessible to screen reader users. I've replaced all tables with hierarchical headings, and made sure all inputs are labelled. I'm testing with LibreWolf on Debian with Orca. I don't have a reliable way to reproduce, but NVDA sometimes activates the audio ducking and never releases the volume until I restart NVDA. I even have no ducking mode set in Audio Settings. Anyone has this issues? I'm using NVDA 2025.3.2 on Windows 10. @NVAccess

My poor computer! I don't know why it's been so sluggish and weird lately. It's acting like tasks that it used to be able to perform no problem without even batting an eye before are just so much of a bother for it now. This is even a pretty fresh windows install.
@serrebi I have a slow system downstairs that I don't really care for. I turned off restore points and now I like it again. I also made the page files static instead of dynamic. Just less background crap happening. I used to turn off indexing, but can't remember if I did that on that rig.

Servers see messages with random sender and recipient addresses, but those can not be mapped to a phone number or public handle. Servers see IP addresses. But you can use Tor, or a VPN, if you want to hide that.
i created an account on a laptop, and logged with my phone trough QR, but my desktop (i logged trough backup), don't seem to take in things like contact that add picture etc, when both mobile and laptop do.
I used it a little bit now for testing and so far it works quite well for private messaging - although I noticed by design the use case seems to be for communicating with people you already know, right? Like public online community chats like irc or matrix does not seem to be in scope if I understand it correctly? (hence no public delta chat group exists, I assume?)

Auserdem: Signal ist in den usa, hat zentralisierte server, und hat als identifer allen ernstes immer noch eine handynummer die in deutschland standartmäßig an den Personalausweis gekoppelt ist. Und es ist nur ein account möglich pro app. Also wenn in der eu die staaten mal zuschlagen wollen wäre ich besorgt @sunshine

Eine Chat-App ohne Peers ist sinnlos, so gut sie auch ist. Das ist das alte Problem. Ich könnte maximal meine engste Familie noch zu Delta bringen, aber ich hatte schon Probleme, sie auf Signal zu bringen.

@cordova5029 Yep. It's a weird multi-function radio thing that can access AM, FM, Shortwave and VHF bands, play audio files from USB drives and MicroSD cards, and act as a Bluetooth audio device among other things.

I am trying to get TW blue on my Windows 11 laptop. I get it into the downloads folder, but Microsoft defender is giving me a warning that it isn’t commonly downloaded and to make sure I trust it, but it won’t let me get past the warning, even though I do trust it. Big challenge for me on Sunday was helping a local pal learn to use a laptop. This man is older than me and has never used a computer. He uses his smartphone for everything and wants to get a computer so he can, among other things, go to recovery meetings on Zoom (there aren't enough local in-person meetings). I have, as you might expect, many extra laptops. Figured we'd start with the basics (point, click, double click, click drag) and go from there....

I have Gigabit symmetric at home, with the option of 2.5. Here, where I am staying now, they have 200 symmetric, and they offer up to 8 GBPS for $ProbablyWayTooMuch.99. I didn't look.
@blindbat84 It's surprisingly common to find fibre in the middle of nowhere, because lots of the nothinghams and boringvilles had no cable until the 2010s, by which point fibre was yubiquitous enough that companies decided to just build fibre infrastructure. It's harder to justify that in an area where you can already get gigabit cable. Sure, it's not symmetrical, but go survey a thousand Comcast users and ask them what their upload speed is, I dare you. Unless you're a YouTube creator, a tech enthusiast, or someone who relies on good upload for remote work, you don't know and you don't care.
I just hate all people with a faster connection than I do, even if I do like them really. I'm essentially on now what's coming close to third-world internet speeds, 80/20 DSL. In London... A financial capital of the world.

I have a friend who lived there for a while, and he told me that, with a Gigabit connection, the best he could do even to just the rest of Asia was about 2 or 3 Mb/sec. Even worse to North America. Fast inside Vietnam though.
