For all here who use the #Audible app, do not update to the latest version as it seams now you can't open the player with #VoiceOver, and clicking on the mini-player thing just jumps you around the currently playing book. Why do they keep doing this shit :(
If anyone is looking for ways to listen to their books without having to rely on an app with terrible blind accessibility, try Libation for downloading your books and stripping the DRM. You'll need to use object nav on NVDA to sign in and get the process started, but you're rewarded at the end with audio files you can listen to anywhere on your blind-accessible audio player of choice! I have this setup, and actually have all of my Audible stuff on an Audiobookshelf server, but I still use the Audible app because its easier to just download something and immediately and start listening, until something like this happens, of course.
Have herd of that, although haven't looked at it because people in the LitRPG subreddit says it really sucks in the later books, something about breaking its own rules or something like that.
I make videos because I like documenting the stuff I collect and figure people might find it interesting. I spend weeks to months researching, trawling through online archives, hoping Japanese translations are correct, finding as many sources as I can.

I’m absolutely fascinated by old telephone recordings. I’ve listened to quite a bit of Evan doorbells recordings from the states in the 1970s and I recently found a tape from australia made by blind phone phreak Tom Dekker. I would love to find more especially from outside the states.

Hmm, that's a good idea for an app. Record your system audio into a 60 second (or configurable) memory ring buffer, then when something cool happens, hit a key and have that past 60 seconds plus realtime captured until you hit stop
@Bri There's the OBS replay buffer that already can do this. You can use that or the OBS built-in recording feature. Of course you will need the sources shown that you want captured. You can even set global hotkeys for these.

That strategy made sense a decade ago, but it's become increasingly less admirable or, in my mind, effective.
I get them refusing to follow orders. That seems good. But then, like, refuse to follow orders and let them fire your ass. Make it their problem. Hell, even just showing up for work each day and doing absolutely nothing seems better than quitting in protest.
@JustinMac84 It's not exactly the same. It takes time and effort to fire someone. There's a paper trail of who did the firing. It causes confusion for the other side, a new situation where the onus is on *them* to figure out what to do. Often in such bureaucracies, firing someone could take weeks or even *months*. Months of delay is gold. And then there are opportunities to use the bureaucracy against the authoritarians with official complaints and lawsuits.
This is a fight of a thousand cuts. Of attrition and creating obstacles and of making people take responsibility and facing themselves with having to make decisions.
By making that decision for them, they've created an immediate job opening for another unqualified Proud Boys reject who will be ready to follow orders starting next Monday.

So, first, this person doesn't understand what fascism actually was and is (as I had written before, all those people crying wolf basically make the word meaningless), and second, "deal with us", what is it? Mais il ne faut pas oublier qu'il y a une très forte violence complètement légitimé qui vient à l'origine du côté des contempteurs de l'IA.
@cffiegel vous avez raison, bien sûr. Mais d'autre côté y a des IA européennes (et j'espère qu'il y en aura plus encore), et y a des situations où l'utilisation des IA fait la vie beaucoup, beaucoup plus simple, comme par exemple chez nous les aveugles. La tâche dde reconnaissance du contenu non-textuel (sites inaccessibles, captures d'écran, PDFs sans couche texte etc., etc., même position du visage dans la caméra avant une réunion importante) est devenue possible et simple, même si parfois avec erreurs. Et je n'utilise pas Grok du tout notamment pour ces causes.
