@weirdwriter @elmyra Not a problem in this case. Punched the tracking number into Internet and figured out it was not valid. The benefits still outweigh the occasional slips! :)
@weirdwriter because it's marketed that way. People shouldn't have to be experts in technologies in order to find the correct assistive tools. Unfortunately capitalist enshittification says otherwise.

When we first went that route in 2002, I think it was a combination of us doing lots of pre-recorded prompts for the original FreedomBox software itself, and possibly me not yet having the native Windows programming expertise to do a DECtalk plugin for the Nullsoft Installer. I was so sad when the most likely outcome was confirmed a few hours ago and Michael Mosely’s body was found. Like many millions of people around the world I have so much to thank him for. He was able to communicate complex, health-improving medical concepts with brilliant clarity, but also without being preachy about it. That skill set is very rare. He single-handedly played a part in many people reversing their type 2 diabetes. He made concepts of intermittent fasting and ketogenic eating accessible and amplified the compelling science. His work on sleep is the best I’ve read and heard. His Just One Thing podcast would always go to the top of my queue the moment a new episode was released. I didn’t know him, but I’m gutted by his death, he is going to leave such a huge void. Because of my own interest in these issues, I was often so close to reaching out to see if I could interview him for the podcast, but to be honest I was a bit star struck and intimidated. I’ll always regret that, the opportunity is now lost forever. Condolences and sympathy to his wife Clare and four children. I know one day they will take comfort in the difference he made and the outpouring of grief around the world. He changed lives for the better, and that is a wonderful legacy to leave.
It's impossible. People can copy paste pieces together and can even prompt a language model to imitate their own style and typos. Watermarking may help. But it's not here yet and will never be universally enforced. @paul
@hobs @paul Thanks for the answer. You might be correct. I am asking cause someone cheated on a group exam by generating all of his work using GPT. In this case he didn't even try to masque it very well
There's hope then. Maybe you can simulate the student's behavior using copilot. You can also talk to them like a detective. Ask them for details about their IDE and tools and maybe if they had friends to help them. Ask about their reasoning behind design decisions and variable names, that kind of thing. You can then show them your copilot log, repeat some questions. Record the convo, of course, maybe have a friend review the video. I give students the benefit of the doubt. @paul
Sorry to throw all those ideas at you. Teaching is hard work, especially if your students don't want to learn. Sometimes it takes more guts and discipline than I can muster. So i just let the cheating slide. And save my energy for that one student in class that is curious and authentic... that makes it all worth it. @paul
@hobs @paul It's fine. Don't worry. He is not a student of mine. I, a student myself have to work with him and others on a group assignment. Him sabotageing the work just pisses me off. And I wanted to be sure before confronting him and not throw false accusations.

Checkpointů jsem projel 9 z 11 - nebo ze 13, když počítám i cíl v Chámbery. Vynechali jsme z @cobic ty saharské, protože jsme vyrazili s panely neotestovanými na prudkém slunci ve vedru a navíc je cestou asi trochu poničili.
Pocity: smutek, že jsem zase nejpomalejší. Závrať z toho, co všechno jsem po cestě viděl a jakou vzdálenost jsem urazil (přes 7000 km z Prahy). Určitá úleva, že přeci jen postupuju ke konci cesty...
