Meaning if I run this command the first time kicking off a download, but this download fails, the 2nd time I run it'll always skip since the file exists already.

I could see where skipping files could be useful, but imho it's easy to deal with in scripts, resuming OTOH isn't and would skip files if the size match (possibly with a variant to skip if length can't be pre-determined or transfer can't be resumed...).
@dermoth If the protocol and the URL support resume, then it is similar yes. Two conditions that complicate matters and might make this option useful to people.

I wonder who thought it would be a good idea to use a separate circuit breaker per socket but then wire three of them under one shared RCD so that (much more common) earthing fault in one socket will disconnect a group of three.
Putting there 6 two-pole circuit breaker/RCD combinations would take exactly the same space, provide full separation between outlets and would cost only a few euros more.

After the building's drain was finally unclogged yesterday, I noticed my siphon (P-trap) cleanout cap threading is imperfect, and water was slowly dripping out of it.
After cleaning the threading with a soapy toothbrush, I wrapped teflon tape (6 rounds, in the direction where you screw the cap on) on the thread, and used a Sharpie® to annotate my servicing technique (tool & rotation direction).
Forget pliers, use a jar opener; no excessive force, no damage.

Last night Organic Maps was removed from the Play Store without any warnings or additional details due to "not meeting the requirements for the Family Program". Compared to Google Maps and other maps apps rated for 3+ age, there are no ads or in-app purchases, and no user information is collected in Organic Maps. We have asked for an appeal.
Reason might be simpler then you could possible imagine, in my humble subjective opinion: Google PlayStore is explicitly for tracking the user and with in-app purchases to squeeze every little money out of there is.
Your own App don't do anything of the above mentioned malicious capitalism and anti user friendly behavior. 😉
You should see that "kicked out of Google PlayStore" more as an Reward then punishment by Google.
Of course you lose some visibility to potential new Users in the PlayStore from Google but do you want all those ones in the first place for an App with all the benefits for Privacy like yours? @IzzyOnDroid

So, that play and close button, they’re actually completely unlabeled which makes it even worse. The only reason you hear “play” and “Close” there is because VoiceOver is doing its image recognition magic and guessing by how the graphic looks like (you can tell by the ding sound that goes with the announcement). If someone has this turned off, or the feature just broke randomly (which I’ve seen it do sometimes requiring a redownload of the models or a phone restart), you’d just get a click on those and nothing else.
@pitermach Wow, didn't know that actually. I just always have the image thing on because it's useful. If we can raise awareness and bring their attention to it, hopefully it can help. Like I said, I'm not here to shit all over it. I *want* to use it, but the refund email doesn't help.
Oh yeah, that feature saved me so many times it’s not even funny. That’s why I pointed it out, if you can get in contact with a higher level tech support, or if you see this anywhere else in the future you want to tell them those buttons are just straight up unlabeled and need fixing. And yeah, you were. I find screen recordings do often help with situations like this.
@pitermach my only complaint with the video I suppose is you were, in my opinion of course, maybe a little too nice at the beginning. You said multiple times that you're just trying to give constructive critique. I'd have probably just said hey floatplane, I'm a paying customer and as a blind person I have a few issues with your app. If you could fix them, that'd be really great. Instead they just kinda... gave you a refund? I understand that this is probably some support misunderstanding but like... to an accessibility issue? That feels super tone deaf. lol. Come on LMG. @pitermach yup. Probably because it's not directly targeted. I'm just airing my frustrations in the moment. I hate the situation I'm in because of a thing. I don't hate the people behind it or sometimes not even the thing that caused it. I just hate that I am where I am now because of whatever it is I'm complaining about.
@talon @pitermach Nothing wrong with being overly polite as far as I’m concerned, unless the company in question has clearly demonstrated that they don’t have a care in the world for accessibility. That person who offered a refund might just have been an underpaid support rep trained to resolve most situations of customers expressing some sort of negative experience with the app in this very manner.

I would like to try to understand why from Friendica I can't connect to the Wordpress blog of @.mau. :friendfeed: already federated with @Matthias Pfefferle plugin, which is instead displayed correctly by Mastodon. The blog is xmau.com/ while the user who publishes is @Notiziole di .mau.
I had no issues with Friendica so far and on loma.ml it everything works smoothly. Maybe it's the redirection of `.well-known/webfinger` that is not supported by Friendica?!?
There was an issue with Lemmy, maybe it is not yet deployed everywhere?
@pfefferle I also had a look at federation between Lemmy and Wordpress. There is a minor fix I have to get in to make comparison of response content-type headers case insensitive (because you send charset=UTF-8 while eg Mastodon has charset=utf-8.
