NORAD pact would change if Canada pulls back from F-35 order, warns U.S. ambassador

cbc.ca/news/politics/norad-can…

Remember all this shit american software that nag you with question and never have a "No" answer? It seems that Americans can't take no for an answer, and like a bully threaten when shown resistance.

And I expect David "Chamberlain" Carney to bend backwards to spend more of this austerity budget to buy these flying bricks.

The US is threatening #Canada (again) if we don't but their F-35s. Here's what Denmark said about the ones they bought, and regret buying:

"They're in for repairs about half the time or even more," he said, "so the Americans have all the power of actually destroying our air force just by shutting down [parts] supplies."

Vivaldi should be totally avoided since it is proprietary software that is unethical and unjust. Also with source code unavailable it can also contain backdoors and surveillance.

I don't know whether Brave have software freedom issues or not, but it is unavailable in almost all free GNU/Linux distributions' official repositories, including but not limited to Debian, Trisquel, Guix, Parabola, etc. Therefore there should be software freedom concerns with Brave and you should be careful.

Firefox is also proprietary software, and you should avoid the binary distributions of Firefox by Mozilla. However, Firefox can become free software as long as it gets its name changed - Firefox's source code is under MPL, and what makes Firefox proprietary is only its trademark. So you can try Iceweasel, GNU IceCat, or you can build your own browser from Firefox's source code with its trademark stripped out.

LibreWolf, Tor Browser and Mullvad Browser are ideal choices.

We are opening an investigation into Grok because we believe that X may have breached the DSA.

We have seen over the last weeks and months antisemitic content, non-consensual deepfakes of women, and child sexual abuse material.

In Europe, no company will make money by violating our fundamental rights.

Danke. #Dialog #Demokratie #Rechtsmimesis #Linksmimesis #Antisemitismus #Ableismus #Connewitz mdr.de/nachrichten/sachsen/lei…

Now remove all the accounts of EU institutions from X. They have no business being there.

Good morning all. How is everyone doing?
It's a little after 6 a.m. here. It's 18 degrees outside, with a wind chill of 5 below zero. We are definitely not used to this kind of cold. My poor mom had to step outside for a minute, and she said it actually hurt.
I just had breakfast. Scrambled eggs with cheese and toast, as one of the soft foods I can tolerate. Most of my nutrition right now comes from medical food shakes. Now I'm back in bed playing Evolve Incremental. I might rest for a bit, since I'm feeling tired and have a mild headache.
We have a very full house today. Four dogs and 24 cats, with most of them indoors because of the cold. My mom is doing a lot of refereeing between cats, keeping them out of trouble, and watching for the ones who like to pee in the house.

So, yesterday sucked.

I've had a toothache that comes and goes for the last little while. It reached new excruciating levels last night, and I essentially became nonfunctional for all intents and purposes. Finally got some sleep, and feel a little better this morning.
So, today, I get to see what my options are for dealing with this while outside of network.

@fosdem is less then a week ahead! And this year, we will have a #stand there presenting our #opensource #secure #router - we are bringing #OmniaNG! This time we are joining forces with other opensource projects by #CZNIC. For example #Bird ;-) Looking forward to all the discussions we will have in #Brussels! See you there!

Welcome!

Kyle Rittenhouse walked up to police carrying an assault weapon during protests in Kenosha, then killed people, and Conservatives called him a hero.

Alex Pretti filmed officers during a protest, kept his handgun holstered, was wrestled to the ground, had his weapon taken away, and then was shot dead, and Conservatives are calling him a terrorist.

Contributions of governments to #OpenSource are often unsustainable - fragmented, short term subsidies, feature work or new things. Nothing shifting billions of tax money from Big Tech to open source!

The public sector should work with existing communities that have managed a sustainable financial model. Commit to deploy these & shift real procurement money!

Debate me at #FOSDEM - between 12:55 and 13:40 on tis. Get involved!

I had to check my carry-on bag as there was no room for it on the flight from YOW->YUL->BRU.

My carry-on didn't make the transition in Montreal & I got an email confirming that it should arrive tomorrow.

I'm now caught in a loop.

I can't seem to either "Report your delayed bag" or contact someone at #AirCanada to have it delivered..

I keep getting "Unable to locate delayed baggage file with provided information."

But were using the information they provided in the email about my luggage.

Just tried #FastPlay. Wow, just wow! I'd like some more enhancements, but it seems to be very, very decent. At least, for a nitpicky guy like me who basically doesn't like anything except for Winamp and 1by1, FastPlay is definitely a thing to keep. Thanks so much @Bri! And special kudos for not using Python this time 😜
As every C++-based solution it's painful to build, but it's native which is a huge plus for me.
