:boost_requested: A call to all app developers! :boost_requested:

We want your help! While there is an official Calckey client in the works, we'd love to see more third party clients for Calckey start to be worked on! That's why we're putting out a $200 bounty for either an original Calckey app on your mobile platform of choice, or a $150 bounty adding Calckey support to your existing app.

There are some guidelines though:

- Uses the Calckey/Misskey API (calckey.social/api-doc), and implements basic features (including all timelines, quotes, reacts, explore, notifications, chats, bookmarks, channels, antennas/lists).

- Written in a language that compiles for your platform of choice (Kotlin/Java for Android, Swift for iOS. No React Native/Capacitor. Flutter is a maybe).

- Follows modern design guidelines for your platform of choice.

- Submitted to an App Store (Play Store or App Store. F-Droid is a bonus!) If you don't have a developer license, we'll also cover the cost of that.

- If you're adding support for an existing app, it must have at least 10,000 downloads.

I’m not sure how many of those who follow my posts this new security threat affects, but it’s worth reading and passing along. Keeping your computer secure is important for single users just as much as for large companies. Hopefully this helps someone.

* IDs hochzählen
* Fehler in der Umsetzung der Verschlüsselung
* Zugriff auf Fremddaten ohne Hürde
* Einschleusen schädlicher Daten
* Einfache Account-Übernahme
* keine Überprüfung (Falschangaben=illegal? Hahaha…)

@domasla "zusammenklicken": Inder Tat.

Because I have to procrastinate to organize moving flats: My new library glycin for sandboxed and extendible image decoding is taking shape. A Loupe MR also already works with it.

There are still a bunch of loose ends. SVGs are not supported, GDK needs support for greyscale images, and some errors still need proper handling.

If you want to take a look, you can find it over here gitlab.gnome.org/sophie-h/glyc…

I am horrified to say that it is mid-2023 and browsers are moving backward on accessibility support for elements with CSS display properties.

Chrome decided anything with `display: contents` is just text. Safari regressed overall but did tables dirty.

Firefox is the only one to have improved and now has the best support overall.

I don’t know which is worse, Safari repeatedly claiming for a year that display bugs are getting fixed in the next version or Chrome just silently tanking support.

I don’t have the energy today to file new bugs. But I did update the open Can I Use bug:

Just like our software, the current (and yes, beloved) Thunderbird logo has seen small, iterative improvements throughout the last 20 years. But now the software is evolving into something more modern, and we believe it deserves a fresh logo that properly represents this revitalization.

Introducing the brand new Thunderbird logo, designed by the creator of the original #Firefox and #Thunderbird logos, @jonhicks 🎉

Oh hey! I just had my first social media post to be taken down from any platform ever, on LinkedIn. Yay! My post about the flabbergasting amounts of racism in "AI" violated their "professional" community guideline. Indeed. Its quite professional to be as racist as possible, but not professional to call it out. Totally makes sense.

A je to tu. #netflix zavádí příplatek za sdílení účtu.
Já osobně tedy s Netflixem příliš spokojený nebyl, takže je mi to celkem u prciny.
Osobně bych nejvíce uvítal jednu platformu, kde člověk najde všechny seriály a filmy. Já vím, je to utopie, ale bylo by to super.

So, the other "godfather" of AI, Turing Award Winner Yoshua Bengio has decided to FULLY align himself with the #TESCREAL bundle, writing a thing about "rogue AI" and prominently citing people like Nick Bostrom.

Take a good look at this text here. This is written by non other than Nick Bostrom, prominently featured by so many of these fathers and godfathers and sons and brothers and nephews of "AI" (given that its all men you know).

New app added to our Accessible Apps directory: Zuzanka. Zuzanka is the world’s first expiry date scanner. The app makes it easy to locate expiration dates on food products, converts them to text format and allows export to other applications. If you're looking for an app to get to know the expiration date independently, this app is for you. Details can be found on the following link tinyurl.com/yc5ek9nb

Last night I got to introduce Mai to #Jamulus, one of the singers I work with for the first time. She wants to rehearse with me but lives far away, and we found that for some reason, Jamulus's latency is lower than SonoBus so we're going to use that for the time being. Anyway, after a test run, I said 'come meet all the mad people I jam with on a regular basis' and this was the last jam of the evening for her, after about an hour of hanging out. It's ridiculous and we call it:
Good night, see you later.
