#Yaga #mod for the #Gothic #game status update.
Recently the Open Gothic reimplementation of the ZenGin engine became quiet stable which let me to wonder whether it wouldn’t be easier to port YAGA to this engine, instead of relying on the Union SDK which is basically a set of reverse-engineered classes of the original ZenGin engine. This way, we get macOS compatibility, future-proof support for future Windows releases, ETC. That means a lot of Yaga’s code base would have to be rewritten from scratch, but that’s with the benefit.
Tell me what you guys think, and let’s comment on this issue if you have some valuable insights

For those who haven’t seen it before, here is my review of The Climate Book, by Greta Thunberg…

I've read dozens of books about climate change, and this one is easily the best. It's packed with information, written to be accessible for anyone from high school (or a bright middle school student) on up, and most importantly it does NOT shy away from the true severity of our situation and the imperative need not only for individual action but for system change.

It's stunning to me that a young woman who just turned twenty years old was able to pull together such a massive project — coordinating the submissions of more than a hundred scientists, activists, and educators — while also writing a large part of the content herself. A truly amazing accomplishment.

This essential work should be in every school library and in every home. It will remain relevant for years to come, I believe, because although there certainly is plenty of data, mostly it's about *ideas* which will never age.

Oh, und deswegen ist Threads auch nicht DSGVO konform – weswegen es zumindest in der EU nicht starten wird. Was der Zuck vergisst: Auch EU-Bürger im Ausland können sich auf die DSGVO berufen. Dito wenn mit nicht-EU Instanzen föderiert wird – da gehen ja auch EU-Daten durch (die machen ja nicht an der Grenze Halt).

Wenn ich als EU Bürger bei einer Instanz außerhalb der EU bin, gilt dann für mich das EU-Recht nicht mehr? IANAL – aber vielleicht kann das jemand anderes "handfest" beantworten.

Anders herum jedoch: Wenn ich bei einer Instanz in der EU bin, gilt für diese Instanz die DSGVO. Wenn sie also nun mit Meta föderiert, verstößt sie gegen selbige. Zumindest da bin ich mir recht sicher.

@piegames archive.matrix.org is just a client; it doesn't archive or index data. however, given it's a webapp, it could get indexed by search engines. Originally it explicitly set <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow"> on shared-history (but not world-readable) rooms so that they could be read by the interface but would not be indexed by search engines. That was a thinko, and the ability to view shared-history rooms was removed entirely.

When I tried to show him he was being baited he got enraged at me.
