> It's a fraud. People pretend that there is a worthwhile investment, while in reality they're just paying out people with the money from their next generation of investors.

Houses. They're talking about mortgages and houses. Sorry if you thought this was another Bitcoin post.

Years ago, I started down the path of becoming MCSE/MCSA certified with the eventual goal of working with Microsoft, or a Microsoft partner. Those plans fell through, and given what they've been up to lately, I'm kinda glad I didn't take that to it's conclusion. It might have been OK in the short term, but there's no way I'd have made it twenty plus years.

Things are definitely quite a lot different than they were in 2002, when I was a naïve high school kid with a couple of certifications to my name...
I mean, it did get me a job, which lead to other jobs, but I wish I had done things a bit differently.

To be fair, those things probably would have broken differently, so maybe it doesn't matter.

in reply to GNOME

It’s been a period of transformation for the Foundation, and the support of every Friend of GNOME truly makes a difference by enabling us to:

• Maintain and improve our infrastructure including GitLab hosting and build pipelines we freely provide to Core, Circle, and World projects

• Provide services for members like blog hosting, chat, and video conferencing

• Support the development of Flathub

Does anyone know anything about the #sidephone? I stumbled upon their website on sidephone.com/ and saw #Catima listed under "Tools+" on their app list. Does this mean it's pre-installed? In the default embedded "app store"? Something else?

I'm quite curious to know more about the device, more specifically, to know more about how Catima fits in there. Kinda cool to randomly see that on a website :)

Good afternoon. I want to first congratulate you all on the new JAWS release. However, I am deeply concerned about something that I have never in my 24 years as a JAWS user have ever seen before. Why is the new page explorer being excluded from home anual licenses? Never before in JFW's long history have the developers (the creaters) of the software have made a decision to make features of the product license dependent. Yes, it's an AI feature, but so is picture smart, so is the AI labeler. Yes, it costs to use this service, but completly excluding those who cannot afford a perpetual license does not make good business sence to me. I can understand placing limitations on how many calls a user can make, but even that is questionable. The majority of JAWS users are students, and are home users. Only the professional users get unlimited uses of this feature. I do not as a user of JAWS agree with this. And if this is setting a president for future features of the software, this may make me consider other options. Again, page explorer gives much needed detail at first glance that someone may not notice unless they look. Being given suggestions on how to navigate the page is also helpful, particularly for new users. Another scenario to consider is a student, who is new to JAWS, and is having to navigate complex databases. I can remember all too well as a student having to navigate the library databases at college's and universities, and not being able to navigate the pages. Having a feature like this would have been very useful, probably would have helped me do better on my research capabilities. This is such a game changing feature, and it should not have any limits. And again I ask, if a home anual license user who pays for there JAWS license like the rest of us cannot use this feature, I ask, what is the justofication for this?

LOL demonic cloud-connected alarm clock scare. (though, I approve of throwing your cloud-connected, subscription alarm clock in the e-waste pile)

Rolling Stone: "A Sound-Machine Alarm Clock Is Sparking Demonic Accusations on TikTok"

My alarm clock is possessed
With that I am quite obsessed
It's been taken over by an evil demon scary
Makes even an IT guy rather wary

It's uploading everything to the cloud
Even when it rings out loud
Uploading your sleep and info everywhere
AH! Please of the demon alarm clock beware!

$5 a month is all they ask
For this terrible demon mask
Stealing all your information now
Just like Satan would, oh how!

Evil spirits may be exorcised
But for this something else must be exercised
Throw that connect cloud into e-waste
Hurry, hurry, make haste!
