Missed yesterdays #AndroidAppRain? OK, just 15 updates, nothing new. But today at apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid there are 16 updated and 1 new app:

* Obtanium: intentional spelling mistake I guess. Obtain (um!) your app updates directly from the devs' builds at Codeberg, Sourceforge, GitLab, Github etc to keep them up-to-snuff without needing multiple store apps or manual hunt

Enjoy your #free #Android #apps with #FDroid & the #IzzySoftRepo :awesome:

when i publicly said that the implementation of server components feels like bullshit, someone from the react team dm'd me and made me feel bad, to the point that i wanted to delete the tweet

now I'm wondering how many other people this has happened to

Despite contacting them multiple times, #ThreeUK is still blocking access to Tutanota.

We have now made an official complaint to #Ofcom.

Hopefully UK users will soon have full access to Tutanota again!

Curious what #OpenSource & #FreeSoftware advocates propose for building a culture of accessibility in their teams.

Hundreds of companies showed up for #FOSDEM & are at #StateOfOpenCon right now.

As a movement, how do we:
- orient new people to our teams?
- ensure compliance are set up and maintained?
- keep up with best practices for sharing our code/ideas?

In July of 2019, NOAA broke. It seems that for some reason, they briefly lost their TTS license, and as a result, demo messages were all over the weather forecasts in several states for a few hours. Here's a recording of this from station KEC-63 in Southfield, MI.

More strange Mastodon reporting. This time from @thurrott, who claims "I’ve been using Mastodon since December, but the interaction there is almost non-existent compared to Twitter."

Dude, you follow 22 people. Try following more people. The "non-existent" interaction is *up to you*.

I've found WAY MORE interactions and engagement here than I ever had on Twitter. Plus fewer death threats.

So interesting how this happens. We have a #blind character in this game, a blind accessibility consultant was consulted to get the #representation right .... but the blind can't play the game they're supposedly properly represented in because it's not #accessible to them. Curious how that meeting went :)

This presentation on everything happening with @matrix is seriously mind-blowing. They're doing some absolutely phenomenal development work, and I have a feeling that the server / client experience is about to get way, way better.

NV Access

@weirdwriter Robert, thanks again for all these! Just a quick question while I think of it - those programs you noted had accessibility issues - have you reached out to the developers? Particularly Microsoft for NewsFlow - I've found that Microsoft have been quite responsive lately in looking at accessibility issues, so I'd be happy to raise it as well if you can share with me a bit more about the issues? (maybe email me, info@nvaccess.org if it's easier) ^Quentin.

Thanks Quentin, this is the nature of add-ons also in other programs like web browsers. I originally created this add-on in 2012 or so, and now it'has community contributions including useful suggestions. I'm maintaining it. The repo to open issues and see the source code is available at
