Here is a before-and-after of some audio recorded from my Kenwood TM-V71A's speaker output. Before is raw audio, after is enhanced with multiple tools, including Adobe Enhance, iZotope RX Spectral Recovery, and some general purpose dynamics processing. It's some two-way radio chatter from a nearby marina, recorded from 156.175 mHz in Belle Harbor, NY.

I asked ChatGPT to write a Win32 UI Automation provider (that is, an application/toolkit-side implementation of the current Windows accessibility API) in C++, and what I got was very wrong. mwcampbell.us/misc/2023-03-20-… Plausible-sounding, but still very wrong. Some of the stuff it refers to is part of the UIA _client_ API, and some is just bogus.
I converted the HTML output to Markdown, cleaned it up, and converted back. Really didn't want to do screenshots, and didn't know a better way.

Ask it for something simple, like “write me an NVDA add-on” that rolls a die (that is, generates a number from 1 to 6) when I press a specific hotkey and speaks the result.” GPT 3 has the right idea, but it’s not able to do it yet.
@miki The manifest would need to be updated to reference the latest version of NVDA, and the `[info]` group isn't necessary in the ini file. Also, it puts the main thread to sleep for a second, which isn't ideal. Other than that, it could also use a more modern decorator-based approach to defining the script's metadata and shortcut key, but I'm nitpicking at that point.

Although it has been several years since I tried it, I can confirm it is incompatible with Talkback. This also applies to Hacker's Keyboard, Unexpected Keyboard and several other open source keyboards currently listed in F-Droid. Would it perhaps help if they started with the AOSP keyboard as a baseline, since it is open source and all keyboards based on it appear to be compatible with Talkback?

I've had similar issues when using ProtonMail as well. ProtonMail gets around this with aliases, will you be using a similar strategy or something else. To often when a service is security minded a conservative IT manager incorrectly assumes its hackers and criminals that use it.

Podcasting 2.0 is basically just having an RSS feed for your podcast. That can be added to any index such as Podcast Index. When you host a Castopod instance, it hosts your podcast, as well as its RSS feed.
Castopod also supports ActivityPub for your podcast, so you can follow it on Mastodon, Pleroma and Misskey just like how you can follow Owncast or PeerTube accounts, and enable notifications.

Many folks seemed to like my demonstration of the mod for the #gothic #game by #piranchaBytes that allows #blind players to play! So now we have a little follow-up, maybe not something as exciting as the previous time, but no less important. The Smart Map feature allows the blind player to observe the 3D game surrounding in a 2D environment. Since the world of Gothic is pretty complicated with all kinds of polygons living inside it, we needed to make the map a bit simpler but no less functional. And so the Smart Map feature was born; it cuts the world to little squares, 500 X 500 in size, which can be navigated by the player allowing them to see what is going on in nearby sectors. Since Gothic uses the so called Waynet which is used for NPCs to know where we're going, we have a seemingly free pathfinding as well which, thanks to the limitations of #ZenGin is not as simple as I initially thought.
