I think if more people found at least equal pride in the code they removed and simplified as the stuff they added (also on management level), a lot of stuff would work a lot better.

Need help asap. So my NVDA doesn't wanna speak other than in login or user control dialogs. Reinstalls didn't help, and of course restarts arn't the magical quick fix. :p. At the same time, wifi doesn't appear to work. Sometimes it barely works, and I thought it was a tailscale issue, but that doesn't seem to be the case now. It only worked the first time when quitting processes. I should point out that it's a pc issue, not an internet itself issue as it works just as it should anywhere else, for example, this work laptop I'm posting on now. What kinda messed up conbination is this? The wifi thing started yesterday in the morning, by the way. Only today nvda thought it wanted to just quit working.
Oh, oops! Did you install all Windows updates? Did you try a hard reset, which is basically hold the power button until the laptop turns off? Also, apparently microsoft's vibe coding, broke the login screen, and not sure if they fixed that. Other than that, I am considering saying goodbye to Windows. And if you can't solve that, maybe it's time for new windows re-install, or something with the WI-FI card is wrong, but if not that, check for driver updates. What brand are you using?
using ctrl+windows+enter to enable narrator for performing this.
Once narrator is working press windows+r to bring up a run dialog.
Into that run dialog type in "%appdata%\nvda" without the quotes and press the enter key to activate.
NVDA folder should be opened in the windows explorer. Use arrow keys to navigate and find nvda.ini configuration file.
If you really wish to proceed hit F2 and rename this file for example to nvda-backup.ini and confirm the rename operation by pressing the enter key.
Finally restart NVDA either by pressing ctrl+alt+n on the keyboard or navigate to the desktop, find the NVDA icon and activate it with the enter key.
NVDA should start with default settings. if it's working it's likelly there are some conflicting settings or addons in your config. If it's not you can revert this process and try something else.
@pvagner @tardis Now I can't try all of those things anyway. First because I reset for now, and second, even if nvda worked, then my wifi problem would've still been there.
Your WI-FI problem is as persistent as my terminal killing the battery. I hope the WI-FI stuff gets fixed. If the computer is too new, and your router is not, that could also be an issue. I had that. It was no fun. I forced my family to get a newer router. I like that config suggestion, I have a computer that needs something like that. Mainly for work, but also because I have some addons that may or may not be changing stuff around.

Meh. At the end of the day, a windows settings reset, without file loss, or uh, appdata and apps did but anyway, it, kinda fixed it for now. But still, what garbage balancing issues does windows have?
Uh, I have given up on figuring out what the issues with Windows are. It's do to the various brands, hardware, drivers, etc. Plus, microsoft's vibe coding nowadays. Why care to support hundreds of different systems? They are getting lazy. :D

SMI, registro horario, jornada laboral, permisos, falsos autónomos, mejora del sistema de inspección. Y creo que no tiene muchos efectos.

Question for the Mastodon hive mind: Primer: I have a need to convert, resize, reorient, and transcode video for various stages of our video edit and distribution pipeline. I've been doing all of this in ffMpeg, via command line arguments and custom-coded scripts. However, the needs of this thing just simply don't scale that way. And no one but me gets access to the CLI on these systems. So that's just not feseable. Now finally, to the question. I am looking for an open-source web frontend to ffMpeg that is, if not fully accessible, as that is a very tall order, but at least usable by an experienced screen reader user with the typical tools and hacks learned over twenty years of experience. Just something that doesn't make accessibility a barrier and most importantly, a time waster. Please boost far and wide for reach, with thanks.

We investigated performance issues on our systems. The cause was identified to be huge inrush in AI-generated nonsense spam creation that slows the notification system.
@odd I honestly don't know what the goal is. My personal guess would be to create wrong but plausible issues to make the account seem more "real" so that during a later spam wave it is less likely to be instantly banned as there is "user activity" associated with it. But that is just a guess, nothing more.

The ones I've checked (I've reported a few of them) had their activity tab explicitly disabled (I guess to rob you of the possibility to check their other issues, and see they all follow the same 3-paragraph-pattern: wrong assumption by the repo name, constructed problem with some terms gathered from the content, blaming the dev to be totally incompetent). Looked into if Firefox had support for GNU/Hurd. Someone submitted a patch and spent 10 years rebasing it and being ignored and then told to rebase it again because it was outdated, before it was closed as wontfix since there's no rust compiler.

I've noticed over the last few months that NVDA will suddenly stop reading characters when I use the left or right arrows to navigate. It doesn't seem to matter whether it's a web document or a text field. I don't get an error sound and I don't seem to get anything in the log either, though I haven't tried increasing the log level yet. Has anyone noticed this? I'm wondering if an addon is causing it, or if this is just a bug everyone puts up with, like the increasingly broken terminal access.

Seeing major choppy audio in various distros when running within this host-hypervisor combo, any fix? could try to fiddle with the sound.VirtualDev setting, I do believe both Hdaudio and es1371 are supported. In my experience though es1371 didn't give much improvement in Linux distros and VMWare. Sadly Broadcom is really squeezing the life out of that product.
If you know I, for one, would love to hear of it. I am informed that USB soundcards work if you pass them through, but have yet to hear of anything for the default VM sound devices.
Currently, distros running pipewire/wireplumber appear to be running into an issue when ran within a Vmware Workstation vm on Windows. Within a user session, the audio...

However, thanks to the distro compiler, I was pointed towards this page. forum.audiogames.net/post/9394… Adding pciSound.playBuffer = "40" to the .vmx file as noted on that page, made it comprehensible, it still breaks up just a bit but as I said, I couldn't understand it before. I can certainly understand it now.
