An Incredible Day In Internet History
It started with the Twitter lockout. 10,000 new users an hour. Almost a quarter million migrated to Mastodon in one day. The servers struggled. Remarkably, admins all over the world built up capacity in real time. New users were patient. The system held.
It's running better now. There will be more hard days ahead, but people powered social media has arrived.

Just went through the eGates at London Heathrow T2. You know, the things that scan your face and passport and (quite often) tell you to “seek assistance” from an immigration officer.
When it was my turn I saw on the screen a little pop up: “Update virus protection”.
@fdroidorg There's a fork of the official Mastodon app that adds a ton of useful features; it's called Mastodos. It's really quite nice — and is GPL3.
But they need help adding it to F-Droid.
Can anyone help them out? (Thanks in advance!)

in reply to Sonny • • •@hub It used the Vala language server from the @vala_lang Flatpak Sdk. Which works perfectly if you have it installed. Unfortunately most people don't, and therefore Workbench did not work correctly.
And because you cannot make a Flatpak app depend on an extension, so it gets installed automatically, the best option we took is to bundle the language server inside Workbench, so the Sdk is not required.
