Hi everyone, I'm happy to say that thanks to @Rickster1963 providing me with some extra data, I am now hosting a complete copy of the Blind Geek Zone audio archives prior to late 2012 including descriptions and author credits! In this case, what's currently hosted is a near exact mirror of the original audio page that used to be displayed on the website (the page said new in 2011 then showed a podcast from Nov 2012 so I fixed that). Další možností, jak přispívat, je používat aplikaci #StreetComplete: streetcomplete.app/ Je to velmi jednoduché a lze k tomu využít třeba těch pár minut, co čekáte na autobus.
Česká mapová aplikace díky firemnímu členství nyní aktivně podporuje rozvoj OpenStreetMap. Projekt je jedním z klíčových zdrojů otevřených dat, o něž se Mapy.cz opírají.
Doplním @oleksandr , že mapy.cz přispívají do OSM. Jak finančně, tak personálně. Co mají feedback od uživatelů, tak upravují v OSM nebo konvertují do Notes. Na svých cestách do zahraničí aktivně mapují do OSM. Nabízeli nám některé své datasety. S komunitou se baví na konferencích. Jako, ano, dokážu si představit, že by mohli dělat víc, ale na druhou stranu moje fantazie je dost veliká a oceňuji to co dělají.
@mirek Zahraničí - nevím, je to možné. Domácí mapování v OSM prostě ale ze strany Seznamu nefunguje, to by vypadaly údaje v OSM podobně jako na MapyCZ. Jak jsem psal dnes jinde, mapuju už dlouhá léta a porovnávám většinou s informacemi na MapyCZ, kde skoro vždy vidím údaje aktuální (tak jak si všimnu předem v terénu), na OSM nejsou, takže to do OSM vložím sám. Narazil jsem v OSM na pár zaměstnanců MapyCZ v komentářích, vesměs komentáře staré > 5 let. Třeba přispívají už jen v Praze? @oleksandr
@mkyral A jo, to je vlastně fakt, to jsem četl snad před rokem, že mimo ČR to MapyCZ tahají z OSM, proto teda do zahraniční OSM i přispějí sami. Na domácí půdě to je opačně. Přitom by to určitě šlo automatizovat, po přidání dat do MapyCZ spustit jakousi synchronizaci, čili odeslat sadu změn do OSM. @mirek @oleksandr
Přesně to dělají. Ale jenom na některé kategorie - 100% vím, že v ČR berou z OSM lavičky. A například zmapování nouzových telefonů na dálnicích pro OSM mají na svědomí lidi z mapy.cz. A asi spoustu dalších věcí, akorát se tím moc nechlubí. Synchronizovat všechno nejde. Protože licence a odlišnost dat. Not so easy. :(
@mirek Jako je fakt, že existence mapy.cz má asi čistý negativní vliv na OSM v ČR. V okolních státech, kde jsou jen Google Maps (na cokoliv outdoorového nepoužitelné) a OSM, jde veškerá energie lidí a organizací jako KČT do OSM, zatímco u nás to jde do komerčního projektu. Na druhou stranu lidi v Seznamu se snaží hodně vracet. Teď budou třeba pořádat další mapathon Missing maps: lekari-bez-hranic.cz/events/mi…
@sesivany @mirek Konkurence je dobrá věc. Možná mají mapy.cz negativní vliv na #OSM, ale opravdu mám dojem, že OSM v Česku je jedna z nejlepších alespoň co jsem zkoušel v Evropě (a řekl bych, že mimo Evropu to lepší nebude).
@mcepl @mirek Já zase tu Evropu s OSM tak proježděnou nemám, ale třeba OSM v Německu a Rakousku mi přijde ve velmi dobrém stavu a subjektivně lepší než v ČR. V USA je OSM citelně horší, ale to je velká země, která asi nemá zdaleka takový poměr přispěvatelé/km2 jako Evropa. Samozřejmě konkurence Mapy.cz je motivační, ale nejsem si jistý, že to převáží ten obecný odliv zájmu od OSM.
@sesivany @mirek Jo, Němci jsou v poho (i když bývalé Východní Německo je citelně slabší), ale byl jsem překvapen, jak jsem se cítil ztracenější v Itálii a Francii, o Chorvatsku ani nemluvě.

@yokyun I really wish for Monero as well. However, it might be tricky as Tuta is based in Germany - as complicated the fiscal law in Germany is, I think it would be extra difficult to fill company tax for customers paying with Monero. Still, it can be done and it would be great to have it.

for me it's a major benefit that you're actively communicating here, it shows a culture of embracing the open source community. There are some inconveniences in the mail app (search, labels, conversation view, different protocol than PGP) but overall it's a great product that I recommend. Mainly because of your openness and responsiveness, also on Github, and the improvements you keep making to the app. And I love that you keep sustainability in mind too. Keep up the good work!

@sundew Not sure why this isn't working. If I look up Neil Gaiman, also on .social, I see the green checkmark. I have refreshed our local copy of the Tutanota account but it still doesn't seem to be showing up. I do see there is a new bugfix release for Mastodon, but it doesn't mention anything about the green check mark. There's also a step in the upgrade process where I clear the site-wide cache so I will check again after I have finished the upgrade.

You put sth on it, then touch the screen with your finger and swipe right and can measure whatever you put in next.
I do not fully understand the math behind it and how it uses the gravitational fields and atom bonds. But it works reliably and it's always on. Truly magic.
