Oh, yeah? wanna support that claim? Really. GMKtec NucBox K11. Windows 11: 2680 single, 13358 multi score. Mind you, this is after getting a lowest of around 12499 for Multi on Win11. (browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/1…) Under windows 10, oh boy. 2801 single-core, 13912 multi-core score. I'm not sure why, but that's around a 4-5% improvement, after going back to Windows 10. So I call BS on Microsoft's figures. My own tests tell another story entirely. For reference, yes, both machines had the "virtualization-based security" feature off.

oh sorry about that, I missed this. I mainly said this because of your post I was replying to. Boosting your post won't actually do very much for your federation other than spread that one particular post around. Fedi is push based, not pull based, so the real way to get content and server reach is to both be followed and to follow people. I don't think GTS does relays yet, so that would be another way of getting content into your instance, but you might need to wait. This is the same for hashtags.
Thanks so much for clarifying and for the explanations! I was under the impression that boosting would indeed result in my server pulling in more posts from other instances, but I guess that was a misconception on my part having seen others doing this after spinning up a new server. I did follow many of the people who boosted though as a way to say thank-you, so perhaps this actually did help extend my server's reach by extension . GTS does not support relays yet sadly, although it is on their roadmap, I only realized it after I'd already configured most things so there was no turning back. That being said though, I do feel GTS is absolutely the right choice for my single-user scenario, setting up Mastodon or one of its forks would likely be overkill for my small Fedi home. GTS is definitely the right choice without a doubt, at least in my opinion. Yeah this push based thing is something a lot of people struggle with. If a server doesn't send you stuff, you won't get stuff, without external tools. I'm not entirely sure if GTS does context backfilling yet, I used to use fedifetcher for that for example. That's another way to get content in.

In Lake County, CA, where I used to live, a restaurant abruptly closed its doors after a Facebook post by the owner was interpreted as a celebration of Charlie Kirk's death. This story in the local paper is a really interesting temperature-taking from a poor, rural part of the US.
Lake County went for Trump in 2024, though it was close. If the death threats were bad enough to force a small business to close, clearly there remains plenty of MAGA there. But in the story there's a tone of exasperation in the quotes. People complaining it's hard to keep businesses or find jobs.
MAGA clearly wanted Charlie Kirk's death to be a watershed moment, one where they consolidated control, particularly cultural control. This story in the Lake County Record-Bee is one more sign that it may have been a watershed in the opposite direction, an overreach that has normal people fed up.
