El 5 de febrero de 1919, tras el despido de ocho trabajadores, el personal de la compañía Barcelona Traction (conocida como la Canadiense) se declara en huelga. La Huelga de la Canadiense acabaría paralizando la ciudad y la industria de Barcelona durante 44 días, siendo uno de los mayores éxitos del movimiento obrero español y de la Confederación Nacional del Trabajo.
El conflicto comienza a finales de enero de 1919 cuando la empresa 'Riegos y Fuerza del Ebro S.A., empresa asociada a Barcelona Traction Light and Power, introduce cambios en las condiciones de trabajo del personal de facturación, produciendo una disminución salarial. Los trabajadores pidieron asesoramiento y soporte al Sindicato y la dirección de la empresa responde con el despido de ocho de los trabajadores afectados. El 5 de febrero el resto del personal de facturación se declara en huelga, en solidaridad de sus compañeros. La nueva respuesta de la dirección de la empresa: el despido de 140 trabajadores de la sección de facturación. El 10 de febrero la dirección de la Canadenca da un ultimátum a los trabajadores en huelga. La tensión aumentará todavía más al ser asesinado un cobrador de la compañía.
El día 21 de febrero el Sindicato Único de Agua, Gas y Electricidad de la CNT declarará la huelga a todo el sector y a las empresas asociadas a La Canadenca (Catalana de Gas, Ferrocarril de Sarriá en Barcelona y Sociedad General de Aguas).
Poco después se unieron los trabajadores de estas empresas, esto provocó que Barcelona y sus alrededores quedaran paralizados. El 1 de marzo las compañías de agua, gas y electricidad declararon que los trabajadores que no se presentasen a trabajar antes del día 6 serían despedidos. Debido a esto el Sindicato Único de Artes Gráficas implantó la censura roja, sobre las noticias periodísticas contrarias a los intereses de los trabajadores en huelga. El día 9 el gobernador militar de Cataluña, Joaquín Milans del Bosch, declaró estado de guerra, y más de tres mil obreros fueron detenidos y encerrados en el Castillo de Montjuic. Tras esto también se declararon en huelga como protesta a los obreros de la industria textil y se produjo una huelga general en toda Barcelona. El gobierno envió a Barcelona al subsecretario de la Presidencia para pactar con el comité de la huelga:
La apertura de todos los sindicatos cerrados.
La libertad de los trabajadores encarcelados.
El establecimiento de la jornada de trabajo de 8 horas.
Los días 15 y 16 de marzo en presencia del emisario del gobierno, José Morote, se reunieron los representantes de La Canadenca y del comité de la huelga, y el 17 se llegó a un acuerdo:
Libertad para los trabajadores encarcelados.
Readmisión de los trabajadores en huelga sin represalias.
El pago de la mitad de los días que había durado la huelga.
Se establecería la jornada de 8 horas.
Tras el acuerdo definitivo se levantaría el estado de guerra.
El 3 de abril de 1919 un decreto del gobierno español establecerá la jornada de trabajo de 8 horas, para todos los oficios, decreto todavía en vigor.

Seems like at #fdroid we started to tackle a problem which I personally also encountered, but never found a good solution in my head: the distinction between F-Droid (the repository of FOSS apps) and F-Droid (the client for repositories of android apps). no, I went from Prague today (had to miss Fosdem). It was a bit painful to find a flight for today. The direct one was like 20k CZK and Ryanair doesn't fly in on Sundays.

Dr. Ellis worked at Xerox PARC, the research organization that developed the modern GUI. Icons, windows, the mouse, Ethernet-based networking, laser printing - all of these (and more) came out of PARC. Dr. Ellis led the team that created Officetalk, the first program to use icons and the Internet. He got his start at 15 years old showing a local tech company how to reuse punch cards, which was a game-changer back in 1958.
Oh, and he was also the first black man to earn a PhD in Computer Science.

Been using Spotify since 2006, but now that I have been using Apple Music for a couple of months I think there is no going back. What I love in Pandora and Apple Music is that I can just play my own Station that plays songs endlessly. Most of the time I don't know what to listen, I like to shuffle everything I might like without much thought.
Spotify concentrates on playlists and as a hard core music fanatic those playlists get easily worn out.
Apple Music and Pandora focus on finding new music and shuffling without limits. In Spotify you always have to have Playlist.
Been using various platforms and been trying out different ways to listen my whole life and thankfully all of these listens are combined to one profile at last.fm/user/rolle- - from @lastfm I can always find my songs.

eDoklady jsou zatim jenom lokalni zalezitost a legislativne to jako povinnost nemaji. Vice proc se neimplementuje evropsky standard rovnou v rozhovoru:
