question: is there a way to have libcurl pause after receiving all HTTP headers but before reading the HTTP body?

Or, is there a way to know that HEADERFUNCTION is being called for the last header?

playing with call recording things on both my pixel 9 pro XL, and my samsung Z Flip5, and I can tell that samsung wins this one, as on the pixel the person I am talking to is really really quiet on the call recording. on the z flip5 however, you can hear both sides of the call just fine.

Uber and Lyft Wave Fees For Passengers With Disabilities

You may have had the experience of having an Uber or Lyft driver show up at a pick-up location that is different from where you are waiting and you may have also incurred a charge for missing your first ride. For those who did not know, you can get a waiver of all wait fees from Uber and Lyft by certifying that you have a disability.

@AparnaSachdev A friend of mine confirmed this with Uber directly. I have tried, non-us support employees have no idea what to do with this and the ticket wasn't properly processed for me, but it might actually be worth trying in case somebody isn't aware that it shuld be US-only and actually goes processes the request..

I only read updates about the Android version. I’m really curious about the status of the iOS version. I read earlier that the development of an iOS version has started in 2023. After that I found no updates or whatsoever.

hmm, now if only the Blind Nerd Toolbox could also summarize my network traffic with something like alt+control+shift+4, life would be amazing and I wouldn't have to jump among the network connections dialog. Still use it every day to monitor my ram usage and geek out over what spikes my CPU performance more than I expect it to.
in reply to Tamas G

I would love if it could integrate into Tweesecake as a new session, so I wouldn't have to remember all the new global hotkeys. Plus, some are awkward on my keyboard.
in reply to Tamas G

I wanted to add this actually, but haven't found an intuitive API to make this work yet.

Just a note: "The blood oxygen feature, introduced with the Series 6 device, will not be present on Series 10 models sold in the U.S. The rest of the world will be able to access the tech on the new watch." A bit disappointing, and I'm surprised more haven't mentioned this fact. I'm super lucky to have a Series 9 from before the sensor ban, so the app works for me as expected. I'm also curious as clearly they're using the blood oxygen sensor for measuring sleep still? Maybe not though.

I wonder why apples oxigin thing got banned in the US when samsung still has one in theres that isn't banned? just curious.
in reply to Tamas G

This is the other reason other than my watch works great I don't need a new one why I won't upgrade. I got the 6 specifically for the blood oxygen feature. It may not be 100% accurate but it is accurate enough with me for asthma.

A lot of folks pre-ordering their phones today. Good luck to y'all, may it being the 13th not detract from the process. I'm happy with 15 pro I have, the weight of it is 187 grams, I was shocked to see 16 pro jump to 199. This is still lighter than the 206 grams 14 pro-series folks had, so it's not bad overall if you're coming from an older phone, and you'll get the same thin titanium frame as on 15 pro and above. Maybe next year the weight will go down again to around 187, who knows. Enjoy them

I completed the pre-orders by about 20 minutes after Apple opened the virtual doors. My 256GB iPhone 16 Pro will arrive on September 20. My watch is through Best Buy, and as far as I can tell, I just go to the store next Friday and tell them I have a trade-in. I never got charged, or a receipt, or anything. That'll be an experience. I helped my mother pre-order as well. She wanted the Pro Max, and by the time I got that done, the arrival date had already slipped to October 2 - October 7.
in reply to Alex Hall

oooh congrats on the new phone and watch, that's awesome!
in reply to Tamas G

@Tamasg Thanks. Both are kind of mixed for me. I'll miss my Mini's size, but I can't deal with the battery anymore, and I want the action button and AI stuff. The watch isn't a big upgrade, but Best Buy's trade-in offer proved irresistable. Also, even though I can't see it, I like the idea of the shiny black finish.

Here is a silly and pointless thing. I just realized that I’ve been using the same SIM card for the last 10 years. With my new iPhone, this won’t be a thing anymore, since they no longer have SIM trays in the United States.
in reply to Patrick Perdue

I found this a bit ironic. I started out on CDMA, where you had the MEID tied to the phone number similar to an E-sim but not at all since CDMA broke with convention. I go to LTE, which is GSM-based, sim returns. But poof, once again, E-sim is tied based on IMEI and then a new ICCID is generated for that phone, a bit like CDMA but with that extra crunch. Enjoy the new phone.
in reply to Tamas G

Bleh, Esims are a pain in the butt. What happens if your iPhone gets reset? I wonder.
in reply to Winter blue tardis🇧🇬🇭🇺

Also, wanna know another ironic thing? In EU you can have two cards on iPhone, one ESim and one physical. Hahahaha.
in reply to Winter blue tardis🇧🇬🇭🇺

@tardis so from what I know, the E-sim is stored on a vendor partition. So essentially if you restore an iPhone that partition tries to not get erased, but if it did, usually the carrier's app will give you a way to re-associate your E-sim again. It's for sure more pain depending on how badly you bricked the phone.
in reply to Tamas G

@Tamasg I didn’t use a network that previously used CDMA until they switched to LTE, so I have always used SIM cards, except for that time I had a T-Mobile eSIM to play with for a bit. Before I got my first cell phone, my parents had analog Amps phones on the 360 communications network, which later became Alltell.
in reply to Patrick Perdue

ah I miss the Alltel guys, especially Chad. Those were the days. Ironically I think they merged with Verizon in the end, which was the network I was on tied to my mom's family account. I miss them almost as much as Singular and SBC, but more so for their advertising and playful atitude
in reply to Tamas G

@Tamasg I forgot about all that stuff. I remember when my Cingular phone suddenly became an AT&T phone one day in 2007. Oh, so that happened…

And now…
Surprisingly there are still some parts of this reverse vending machine visible.

Also Dutch people should finally realise that the word "pin" means something completely different in English. 📌

in reply to Ondřej Caletka

So the original English text wasn’t good enough and it needed a second notice?
in reply to Martin Hoffmann

@partim I think that was indeed the case. Cognitive overload by putting up too many language versions.
in reply to Ondřej Caletka

So people from abroad who might only have a credit card or homeless people, who might not have a bank account at all, will not get back any money?
in reply to Benedikt Wi

@benedikt correct. Same story for NS operated reverse vending machines at train stations which only support refunding money via an app called Tikkie. That app supports only IBANs starting with NL, despite the SEPA agreement which says that all eurozone IBANs are equal.

Credit is such a scambox.
My credit score went down because I closed an account that I absolutely don't need anymore, gave me no real benefits, and that I could only use in a very select few places.
Never mind that all my paymemnts are on time, I don't keep a balance other than the car payment, which is now almost paid off, etc.

Did you know? mapcomplete.org supports hotkeys. Our favourites are:

P (and shift+P) to select a Picture-based background, M (and Shift+M) for a map (not based on OSM), and O for an #OpenStreetMap based one. Backgrounds are curated by the editor layer index.

And of course, Ctrl+F selects the search bar. Btw, a big improvement to search is coming soon.

For more hotkeys, check the 'Hotkeys'-page in the menu
