Hi there @islieb? ! This is a post actually directed in part to the @Friendica Support forum page of our free open source software community. I guess you heard the term #friendica already, as you are quite a while in the fedi, beginning with your #diaspora presence a long time ago. Our main coder @Michael Vogel is a fan of yours (if I got that right). I asked him the other day in a FOSDEM element chat, if he considers it possible that you make some drawings for friendica, maybe even for every new version, we have like two o three releases every year.
The idea came up because on this server we decided to use the following comic on the login/welcome page: Than we came up with this variation for the text as you can see:
It seemed to me that Michael liked the idea to have some drawing by you, so I don't want to let the idea slip away and ask you, as well as the community, what everyone thinks about such an option. There are also the 403, 404, 500 and so on error pages. Well maybe those are more a task for @isfies!, who knows ..

Ahhh... I'd love to say yes (really!), but I've already got so much stuff to do and I'm behind with everything.
Here's what I could offer:
If you want to use any comics or parts of them, rearrange things or change the text, just go ahead. heluecht knows my stuff and could probably find something that fits. On this page are two zip archives with comics ("islieb" = German, "heyokyay" = English): islieb.de/comic-archiv/
I've also got some comics about themes like privacy, Social Media, AI, Windows/Linux and tech in genereal that were pretty popular, especially here on Mastodon. I could find them for you, maybe you want to use a few of them.
Other than that, I'm sure I could draw you *something*, but not a bunch of new comics. The drawing-part takes very little effort with these simple stick figures, illustrations wouldn't be a problem.
But coming up with several new comics on specific topics takes time, at least for me. If I try to force or rush ideas, the results are pretty lame most of the time.
Maybe you could ask other cartoonists as well? I'm sure many would be happy to contribute something and you'll probably end up with more material than you need.

I'm getting tired of software developers berating normal people for buying everyday household items on Amazon, considering that 3/4 of its operating income comes from the cloud computing services it sells to software developers.
@hub I generally think we should give small shops a pass, because untangling all the pieces is so difficult — like, if you use Shopify or whatever, & some email newsletter service, & some responsive CSS framework etc., figuring out where all those layers of gunk are served from originally us virtually impossible if, say, you are a sock maker not a sysadmin.
For the big vendors, I assume accountants tell HQ they save .000001% or something. I agree that they should feel the brunt of the pressure.

I have recently added my personal email to “new” outlook (Mac), and when doing so I was prompted if I want to either do imap or do the Microsoft cloud server route.
Are you saying that Microsoft ignores what I chose? Or are you intentionally omitting that this is still an option, which would be pretty shady things to do as competitor.
You can use pretty much ANYTHING else and it will be better than Outlook.
However, for me as a company Admin it is frustratingly difficult to convince people to use something else... "That's what we have always used..." & change is apparently scary.
@rraggl Hi, tough question. Nobody really likes change. Especially when it is something that breaks long-standing habits. But in the end, there are two ways: either people are forced to change or they start the change themselves. To answer your question: you can only show cases when it was too late and costed dearly to companies and try to convince people to take preventive actions.
Unfortunately, I haven't choice, I have to live with this garbage at work. It's not even a good app. It's slow and messy, crashes constantly. Why people stick to this kind of product and give up their privacy is beyond my understanding

Recently I had a presentation at @tehlug (Tehran Linux Users Group) with this title: "How did my application get accepted into Gnome Circle?" I talked about Open-source communities, @gnome and more specifically Gnome Circle, and the process of creating an application and making it part of the Gnome Circle Ecosystem (from idea to the final app), I've mentioned my experiences with the Drum Machine application I made and tried to encourage them to start contributing to FOSS as much as they can.
