Hi David, would you please tell me where I might find Blazie on mastodon? I received some really unexpected and very awesome customer service, and I would like to mention it publicly and mention the company. Essentially, I'm super impressed that you guys not only sent me a replacement unit, but my job just about hit the floor when I got a message from Dean today letting me know they were sending back my microSD card. I figured they would just ditch it, and rightly so. It was one and a whole series of day makers today.

In a brazen display of defiance, #Trump’s #DOJ filed papers less than two hours before the 5PM hearing, telling Judge James E. #Boasberg that there was no reason for anyone to come to court because the administration was not going to provide any further information about the #deportation flights.

There are still serious concerns about the prior two flights WITH *alleged* [w/o #DueProcess there’s no way to verify & family members & attorneys have said the allegations are false in many cases] #AlienEnemiesAct detainees onboard that continued despite the judge's order.

They were not DEPORTED. Deported means sending them back to their country of origin. These people were sent to a maximum security #prison in #ElSalvador, without any #DueProcess or any analysis as to whether they feared harm there.

Flying a person to a third country that they may never have been to, directly into a prison where they are going to be forced to do hard labor, is not a #deportation; it's something else entirely.

Thanks for the guide!

"you should first make sure that you either have a secure backup for this Challenge-Response" – good you mention that! Fro me, it left the question: and how do I do that?

I still wish it would be possible to use the Yubikey as *alternative* to the passphrase, not an XOR. So a tap on the key, when available, saves me from typing the long phrase – but if the key's "gone", I still can get in with the phrase…

in reply to IzzyOnDroid ✅

Your can do it by chaining: have your regular store with a very long, random and complex Password that you'd never memorise or type. Write it down on a piece of paper and put it into a steel safe as backup

And then create a second keepass file, that uses a hardware key (e.g. @nitrokey ) to unlock. Into it, put ONLY the passwort to the regular file in an entry in the folder „AutoOpen“ that has the local filesystem path to the regular file in the „URL“ field. (See keepassxc.org/docs/KeePassXC_U…)

This way, for regular usage, you use the convenience method via hardware key and second file, which will in turn unlock your regular file automatically.

If you loose your hardware key, you take the backup sheet of paper from the steel safe.

The planned outsourcing of (parts of) the infrastructure to AWS is to be reversed and the government shall inform the parliament of the outcome before the summer break. mastodon.nl/@bert_hubert/11418…

U.K. Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis joins a growing list of religious leaders and academics refusing to attend the Israeli summit on antisemitism.

The reason is that the Israelis have invited a whole list of far right populist politicians with a history of antisemitism. To an antisemitism summit.

This is Israel now. Compromised.

This Global #Recycling Day, let’s talk about our favorite way to reduce waste: repair!
Recycling is inefficient, complex, and time consuming. It should be the very last step in a long line of alternatives. While Reduce and Reuse are the best options, we think the missing R is Repair.
Here's why: ifixit.com/Right-to-Repair/Rec…

Haven't seen this widely talked about beyond the Ableton Access mailing list but having just tried this for myself this needs more recognition. For any Live users, we have what I think might be the first fully accessible Max4Live device, and it's a very useful one at that because it's a audio meter, which supports reading both true peaks and all of the Lufs values, either in realtime or by processing a file. It also supports normalising files, and after you turn it on the hotkeys are global so you can keep checking the levels IE wile you mix. The developer is also intending to release the libraries he developped that aid in communicating with screen readers which will no doubt be very helpful in making future Max4Live devices more accessible. youtube.com/watch?v=jGE4zHv-1k…

@ZBennoui Great, gonna bookmark this for future advocacy efforts :) In general there are still some M4L widgets that need to be made accessible for general users, like buttons, if those are even a thing - I haven't looked at the developer documentation. For example the new expressive chords device that was just released should have a button to import the selected clip as a set of chords but you can't find it with a screen reader, and I think that's more important to do first.

Well, as long as the GNU-slash-IMP folks are mad at me, I should go for broke and irritate everyone. Someone's got to be debbie downer and I guess today it's me.

Does @gnome support the use of a slur for a project they're hosting? Because from where I sit, they appear to, and I feel like hosting this project might be a violation of their CoC.

gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp

in reply to Veronica Explains

fwiw GNU Imp isn't a GNOME project per se. It uses our infra, but it's not part of GNOME and doesn't follow GNOME's release processes or project governance. It's in the GNOME/ namespace on GitLab for historical reasons.

It was previously on the old GNOME CGit alongside many other third party apps, and for a time all apps that were there were put into the GNOME/ namespace. For a few years some newer third party apps got moved into that namespace, but nowadays we keep it to things that are official. Old projects remain due to the hassle of transferring namespaces.

I'm not fond of the name at all personally - I was the one who opened the rebranding issue years ago that lead to the Glimpse fork.
