I do ironically enjoy it when a company releases a new and improved #LLM, and suddenly some extremely specialized and specific tasks that I use LLMs for perform drastically better. And suddenly they can complete the exact examples I used to provide in my prompt, all by themselves. And seem to perform the task in my exact style, even though I'm not giving them my prompt examples anymore. Hmmm, it couldn't be that they trained on my prompt data, could it? Even though they said they don't do that? Nah, of course not! They'd never!

Oh well, at least someone, somewhere, spent several billion dollars to make something I do once a week slightly easier.

@midzi @miki W VS Code możesz dodawać markery jako zadania dla agenta. Może gdzieś indziej też działają, ale nie sprawdzałem. Ja korzystam z 2: TODO: i FIXME:. Pierwszy to polecenie stworzenia czegoś nowego, a drugie - poprawienia. Wpisujesz w komentarzu na przykład TODO: napisz funkcję, która przyjmuje plik JSON i zwraca go w YAML. I agent sam znajduje odpowiednie funkcje i koduje.

Signal just released a "poll" feature with great fanfare, while all #deltachat apps already integrated a full suite of chat-shared apps, checklists, polls, shopping lists, calendar, editor + tons of games.

Better, anyone can create new apps, eg as github/codeberg forks from existing apps, and post it to their chats for instant deployment. No need to ask for permission, register an account, and no hosting or DNS: actually "server-less" and fully end-to-end encrypted :)

I just discovered that current versions of Pages on the Mac export tagged PDF files by default. Only if tables contain more than 10,000 rows, will tags be omitted. That can be overridden by changing the Accessibility popup menu setting in File/Export/PDF under Advanced from „Standard" to "on“. Then, Pages will always create tags even with large tables and very complex formatting. But even the Default setting means that most documents created in Pages will be tagged, if using alt text for images, proper tables, lists, and paragraph styles such as Heading 1 or such. Very nice!

Go see your doctor. Don't put it off. Ask for a DRE or a PSA test. Yes, DRE means a finger up your bum, get over it.

They probably won't find anything wrong, but if they do then early intervention will help you avoid the situation I'm in. PSA units should be 3-5; mine was 1206 and my prostate about the size of an orange.

Stage 4 cancer is no joke.

Táta za mnou přišel, že potřebuje nový notebook. Po pěti letech se na jeho současném HPčku projevují znaky používání. Protože příprava Windows nešla úplně dobře, domluvili jsme se, že zkusíme Fedoru Silverblue. A o tom je dnešní video.

S tátou jsme zkoušeli Linux v době Ubuntu 6.06 a to mu ještě nesedlo. Myslím, že tenkrát jsem mu tam dával Kubuntu a nepomohlo, že měl ještě nějaké Windows only appky. Teď je situace jiná v tom, že jde o nový stroj, Gnome je o galaxii dál než bylo tenkrát KDE a tisíce světelných let přes Windows co se týče použitelnosti. Tak jsem zvědavej, zda si na to zvykne.

They are in playback > volume in one place, so I'd expect to find them in that same place in the main UI. If nothing else, binding keys to them by default would make sense. James has to be right that there's a way to control volume that isn't accessible. No volume control at all out of the box seems like a strange choice.

Und zwar nicht nur wegen möglicher negativer gesellschaftlicher Folgen, z.B. bei Hochrisiko-KI-Anwendungen. Für Startups und Mittelstand ist das doch nicht machbar: Erst investieren und später erfahren, ob man das Produkt so einsetzen darf. Meta & Co. dagegen können Mrd. € spekulativ einsetzen

Habe gerade die relativ undankbare Aufgabe acht Exceldateien zusammenzuführen. Sie sind alle identisch und wurden von verschiedenen Abteilungen teilausgefüllt. Die Exceleigene Funktion dafür tut einfach nichts. Sobald ich mehr als eine der Dateien öffne, friert JAWS ein und meldet nach gemessenen vier Minuten zurück, dass die neu geöffnete Datei nicht reagiert. Hätte ja gerne einen Leistungsstärkeren Computer. Aber dieses Denken, dass das absolute Minimum für Bürotätigkeiten schon ausreichen wird, macht mich langsam wahnsinnig.

Lol I feel him. I started using my moms phone around that age, for calling and listening to literally 1 song on YouTube. In 5th grade I started getting into WhatsApp, and doing that on her account was already annoying lmao. I got one for christmas in 5th grade, so with, 11/12? Not exactly sure. And it was some refurbished iPhone X. So yeah, I think 18 is way to old. And I think awareness and good competence with tech and stuff these days is important, knowing how to use it for your advantage, SOS etc. But yup, once you start finding out about YouTube, TikTok etc you're trapped, so don't let that happen to early for sure.

Any data that is collected on servers will eventually leak or be abused otherwise.

By design, no one can enumerate #deltachat profiles which are private and not published on any server. Conversely, #chatmail relays do not see or collect private data or metadata.

But wait, there is more :)

We are currently evolving end-to-end security protocols and UX to **survive an attacker fully taking over a server**. The attacker shall not even be able to message users, let alone impersonate anyone.

The Cloudflare outage was caused by a Rust ‚.unwrap()‘ panic, undistinguishable to the non-connoisseur from a segfault.

(Dont @ me with undefined behaviour on mythical systems you cannot name)

The effective difference between segfault and unwrap is that the former would have caused a wave of unbearable Rust smugness in my timeline.

This way, it‘s just a coding error. We all do those.💁🏻‍♂️

No, there was no leaked database of 3.5B #WhatsApp users. Researchers from Vienna simply used the contact discovery method with all possible phone numbers to get contact data of 3.5B users. They informed WhatsApp who kinda fixed it by setting rate limits for contact discovery and the researchers deleted their collected data. Read the paper instead of clickbait :)

Ca. 15 Jahre nutze ich nun #ubuntu auch beruflich fast ausschließlich. Aber erst dieser Tage habe ich so richtig gecheckt, dass man dem Terminal sagen kann, in welcher Fenstergröße es starten soll:

Menü [Einstellungen]->[Profile]->[z.B. Unbenannt]->[Anfängliche Größe des Terminals]

... wieder ein Klick weniger

Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB, Watch Series 11 GPS 46MM with sportloop textile band, Airpods Pro 3, USB-C fast charger, Apple TechWoven Case With MagSafe for iPhone 17 Pro Max, and Apple Care Plus addedon to all newly acquired devices last night. It would seem the CC company enjoyed all charges, totaling over $3,300, as they posted a $2,500 credit limit increase offer to my account meer hours later. LOL. The experience tuckered me out, so as soon as I got home, I just set the most expensive two-pound-bag of goods I've ever acquired in my life down, and crashed out for a few hours. I'm now up, and ready to provision and transfer services to the new hardware.

Ich hab’ ehrlich gesagt keine Lust mehr auf so glattgebügelte selbstverliebte Silicon-Valley Menschen, die mit dem viertausendsten Heilsversprechen erzählen wieso ihr Framework/Produkt/Vision/Browser/AI die Welt rettet, oder zumindest mein Leben verbessert.
Ich hab Lust auf merkwürdige Gedichte, schräge Musik, Single-Purpose-Websites, kleine Konzerte und RSS.

Alles ziemlich random, aber das isses.
