The #matrix 2.0 #fosdem talk was 🔥. Besides the new ElementX client being both slick 💅 and fast 🏎️, I was impressed by the seamless p2p messaging without internet. I like to see cool tech combined with slick UX.
For those of you wondering what I’m talking about, matrix is a federated messaging platform with end to end encryption and all the stuff you’d want from an open messaging platform.

Many revolutions have happened since then: DSL connections, smartphones, social networks, artificial intelligence everywhere… But Podcasting stayed still and its decentralized architecture resisted to the big corporations. In this talk we will show how the Podcasting 2.0 community is reinventing Podcasting by adding tons of new features, while keeping all this interoperable. We will quickly demonstrate how this actually works with Castopod, an open-source podcast hosting solution.

#fosdem Update Tag 2: Schade! Schon ist der zweite Tag vorbei.. Damit wir auch nur irgendwie mit dem straffen Zeitplan zurechtkommen konnten, saßen wir zwischenzeitlich einfach in Hörsaal A und haben uns per #Livestream in Hörsaal B eingeklinkt (wie die anderen knapp 20.000 Unique Viewers).
@sboots the GC really should be sending folks to #FOSDEM.... You should be in the front of the line. Also you need to be sent to the #StateOfOpen next year too.
I just watched @mattj’s talk at #FOSDEM about authentication in #XMPP [1]. I was aware of the security properties that #FAST offers but I had never made the connection on how much better this is to what we usually do on the web.
