Does anyone know of a way to control iPhone ringtone volume specifically on headphones? I want to have my volume loud because if I have computer headphones on, or am in the next room, I won't hear it. The ringtone volume also affects alarm volumes. In the past this hasn't mattered, but over the past few months I've noticed that the call ringtone will blast through my airpods at full volume too. It is physically painful. I genuinely think it could cause someone hearing loss. There are 0 circumstances under which Apple should ever allow such a loud sound to come through anyone's earbuds. But if I turn the volume down, my alarms are quiet. My ringtones on speakers are quiet. In short, no Tim, I do not love it.

Yesterday was the perfect day for recording fireworks, and I mean... Just fireworks, as I live far aaway from any major roads. I read the thread of that person suicide note and how people were responding to it. Like the list of classical well-intending condolences. And again it was a #queer person with traumatic experiences and bullying experience.
That reminded me on my ostracism from my hackspace and my own bullying experience, with the usage of pseudo-medicalized speech which ended in declaring myself as a "problematic person" which was worthy to kick out and ban forever from that space.
I know people who suffered almost the same fate and were run into the ground by their social death (ostracism) and who were on the edge to suicide.
I sat at the end in one of those workshops at the congress related to "mental health" and it was more about knowing resources, than helping to build better communities, where its less possible to push people over the edge.
I talked with people there how they were kicked from spaces, how they felt #shame on a regular basis. Workshops can't fix that that your communities are frozen hell-holes, where perfectionism and shaming people for being off the expected norm is what it is all about.
The chaos should be more about for people to "sit down, grab a tea and be welcome" than to first "make a cool project and then being respected". And when you are once part of a community, this is a fundamental right, not something which changes with the air humidity on each day.
You don't exclude people for who they are. And if you think that there are "patterns" worth of doing that, then I disagree with you. There must be a better way to at least allow a respectful empathic departure and a respectful re-integration of people who infringed on community norms. Anything else is not what I consider "left".

That's my thought with anything AI. As long as you yourself put some of your thinking into it whether it be coding, writing music creation, I don't feel like there's harm in using AI as a tool.

@draeand Sam you're like how I think about us the non programmers trying to make games. I think we do have a community of people who can make some good games but much of our community aren't programmers but we can design, and I think we have room to think about the designers so that one day they can pick up and make games all with the power of design. SBYW is a very good example of what the community can do, but the availability of what you can do within SBYW may limit people.

I boosted but I'll answer. A blind guy and accessibility specialist here. TXT is absolutely fine, but only if your document is *not* structured. If it is, then you will need to invent markers, like numbers, weird strings (++, @@ etc.) or at least put "Q: A:", if it's a FAQ. If the text is structured however, and even more, if it does contain tables, two formats are the best: HTML and DOCX. Why so? Because we blindies like structured layouts to better orient ourselves, and the main building blocks are headings, lists, tables (but only for tabular data!) and, in modern web, semantic HTML 5 and ARIA regions. Screen readers provide us ways to navigate by these blocks very easily, summon lists of them etc. For example, I can navigate by heading with a single H key, or even by N-level headings, also by simply pressing the corresponding number on the keyboard. If you have more questions, please ask. #Accessibility
HTML is the way to go. Hell, if you're allowed to do this, have an AI model convert the PDF into an accessible screen-reader-friendly HTML document and see what it does. You'd be amazed. #accessibility

For example Microsoft Office can generate tagged PDF documents and is readily available. Then if you would like to do something extra publish the same content as a part of your website i.e. an HTML document.

Happy 75th birthday to The Archers, the longest running radio drama in the world. Its famous theme tune is one of my earliest memories. When I was very young, it used to come on the radio every week day afternoon, and Mum would listen to it. Then I got hooked, and started listening to the Omnibus edition on Radio New Zealand’s National Programme when I was five or six. I did that without fail, every Thursday night, until 1982, when Radio New Zealand announced that due to the increased cost of the programme imposed on it by the BBC Transcription Service, Radio New Zealand wasn’t going to carry it anymore. This resulted in my first governmental advocacy effort. As a 13-year-old, I wrote for the first time to a Government Minister, pleading with him to do something about this travesty. It was pretty exciting in my working class family to come home one day and find a letter from the Minister of Broadcasting, Ian Shearer, waiting for me in the mailbox. But it was only to thank me for writing and to tell me that he didn’t have the power to interfere with Radio New Zealand’s operational matters. It was the first time, but far from the last time, that I witnessed governmental buck passing up close. My teenage self thought that he could surely just pass a law to stop this or something. I got to know him in my later work, and you can be sure I reminded him of this moment. Finally the big day came, I still remember the date, 30 September, 1982. Rather than a typical cliffhanger, the episode ended with a special ending for New Zealand listeners, who were never to be invited to Ambridge again. Eventually, I was let into a fanatical little club of blind people that were receiving The Archers on cassette from a very kind woman in the UK who recorded it every week. It was like being reunited with family I hadn’t seen for a while. Finally, the Internet made it easy for me to visit Ambridge every day except Saturdays, and that’s still the case. The Archers is a brilliant show. The fact that it has run so long allows stories to develop in real time, sometimes they can take decades to run their course. Some people ask me how on earth you start listening to a show that has run so long, and I tell them that the best approach is to treat it like you are moving to Ambridge yourself, the village in which the characters live. When you move somewhere new, it takes a while to get to know everyone, but you eventually start to work out who’s who. You can subscribe to The Archers via two podcasts. One gives you the 12 minute episode every day other than Saturdays, the other one gives it to you in one big weekly episode each Sunday, that’s called the Omnibus version. Happy birthday to the archers from me as well! Pity your campaign for it to continue on New Zealand Radio didn't work: thank goodness for Internet these days! I have been lucky, in France I could listen to it on long wave before online broadcasting came along. I first heard it in the background when friends at boarding-school listened to the omnibus on Sunday mornings, but I didn't start listening properly till 1989, when I randomly found it while zapping through radio stations and decided that it was interesting after all. I'm just about to read the article you posted a link to.
