I read an article in the New York Times about what questions to reflect upon going into the new year. I thought I'd share the questions here.
1. What is worth remembering from 2025?

Re: #lastBoost. I was in San Diego at the beginning of december, and one of my Uber drivers (if you can still call them that) had a Tesla.

He looked in the stats, and since the last firmware update, ~90% of the miles driven were full FSD.

During our trip, he only took control once, when he didn't like the route the FSD was taking. However, it turned out that the route he wanted was actually blocked, so the FSD was right all along.

Does anyone know of a way to control iPhone ringtone volume specifically on headphones?
I want to have my volume loud because if I have computer headphones on, or am in the next room, I won't hear it. The ringtone volume also affects alarm volumes.
In the past this hasn't mattered, but over the past few months I've noticed that the call ringtone will blast through my airpods at full volume too. It is physically painful. I genuinely think it could cause someone hearing loss. There are 0 circumstances under which Apple should ever allow such a loud sound to come through anyone's earbuds.
But if I turn the volume down, my alarms are quiet. My ringtones on speakers are quiet.
In short, no Tim, I do not love it.

Little Johnny had just failed his law exam, but instead of sulking, he marched straight to his professor’s office with a plan.
Johnny: “Sir, is it true you know everything about law?”
Professor: “Naturally. I’ve been teaching it for over 30 years.”
Johnny: “Perfect. Let’s make a deal. If you can answer my question, I’ll accept my failing grade. But if you can’t… you give me an ‘A.’”
The professor, amused and slightly arrogant, agreed.
Professor: “Go ahead. Ask.”
Johnny leaned forward with a grin.
Johnny: “What is legal but not logical, logical but not legal, and neither legal nor logical?”
The professor froze. He thought. He scribbled notes. He paced the room. Hours ticked by, but he couldn’t crack it. Finally, red-faced and defeated, he gave Johnny an “A.”
The next day, still fuming and desperate for answers, the professor posed the riddle to his class.
Professor: “Who can tell me—what is legal but not logical, logical but not legal, and neither legal nor logical?”
To his surprise, nearly every hand shot up.

He called on one student.
Student: “Sir, you’re 65 years old and married to a 28-year-old woman. That’s legal but not logical. Your wife is having an affair with a 23-year-old man. That’s logical but not legal. And finally… you just gave your wife’s boyfriend an ‘A’ after he failed his exam. That’s neither legal nor logical!”
The professor didn’t say a word.

He just fainted.

Yesterday was the perfect day for recording fireworks, and I mean... Just fireworks, as I live far aaway from any major roads. No wind, no summer sounds... problem... not many fireworks either, unlike most years. hear is the one I was able to capture, around 11:20 PM. if anyone wants the semi-raw 2 hour recording I made, although most of it hangs out around -30 to -50db, let me know. dropbox.com/scl/fi/m831tb38j9f…

For example Microsoft Office can generate tagged PDF documents and is readily available. Then if you would like to do something extra publish the same content as a part of your website i.e. an HTML document.

KDE Plasma confuses me.

Is KOrganizer the groupware? Is Kontact?

I want a "calendar", a "tasks", and a "contacts" program. I know there's Kmail and also allegedly something else but I can't remember what it's called or if it's official.

I love you, Plasma, but this is still clear-as-mud to me.
