stormdragon2976 pushed changes to the testing branch of the audiogame-manager project Experimental fix for systems in other languages. Export LANG to en_US.UTF-8 temporarily during installation of games. This needs testing, especially if your computer is normally in a different language.

I just realized I completely forgot to let the Mastodon-verse know about my new single “Jazz Fun” featuring @onj on the Rhodes and Jason Castingway on the piano, among others.
I took care of most of the guitar work! :)
It all started with a simple loop played on a strangely-strung acoustic guitar and turned into this: open.spotify.com/album/50xQacd…

As I've mentioned, I've been working with some people to launch Cosocial.ca, a Canadian #Fediverse instance which is a long-term self-supporting sustainable operation based on the member-owned co-operative model.

There's an online conversation today; invited so far are people who signed up as potential technical contributors, but if you might be interested, drop on by: lu.ma/u4jlxafp

New W3C Community Group proposed for Service Discovery on the Web: w3.org/community/blog/2023/02/…

The intention is to expose DNS SRV records and mDNS along with other mechanisms (like .well-known) to web apps via a unified API.

This will allow things like WebMail clients to find mail servers based on email address or a @matrix client to find a homeserver based on a MatrixID. It can also allow web apps to find devices on local networks.

If you're interested, please support and join the CG!

It's not just that Google's Bard returned a wrong but plausible-sounding answer; it's that this is what all these chat-based "search" engines do.

Missed yesterdays #AndroidAppRain? OK, just 15 updates, nothing new. But today at apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid there are 16 updated and 1 new app:

* Obtanium: intentional spelling mistake I guess. Obtain (um!) your app updates directly from the devs' builds at Codeberg, Sourceforge, GitLab, Github etc to keep them up-to-snuff without needing multiple store apps or manual hunt

Enjoy your #free #Android #apps with #FDroid & the #IzzySoftRepo :awesome:

thinking about this particular line from @slightlyoff:

> They also worked behind the scenes to marginalise those who pointed out the disturbing results and extraordinary costs.

when i publicly said that the implementation of server components feels like bullshit, someone from the react team dm'd me and made me feel bad, to the point that i wanted to delete the tweet

now I'm wondering how many other people this has happened to

Curious what #OpenSource & #FreeSoftware advocates propose for building a culture of accessibility in their teams.

Hundreds of companies showed up for #FOSDEM & are at #StateOfOpenCon right now.

As a movement, how do we:
- orient new people to our teams?
- ensure compliance are set up and maintained?
- keep up with best practices for sharing our code/ideas?
