After a lot of work, I got Windows TTS for Doom pretty much the same as it has been in Linux for a while now. While working on the Windows version, I noticed that a lot of people who were playing wre not native English speakers.
I added in a setting so that the language could be set, and if the language is not English it uses Google translate to translate the text to their specified language before sending it through as speech.
I am wondering how many people who use the Linux version in Linux Game Manager would be interested in this functionality?
@drew it does with the caveat that the TTS is part of Linux Game Manager. You can play the Toby Doom project as is without tTS enabled, but the TTS opens up access to more game mods, and to more info in death match.
@drew It should, yes. I have only seen one mod, Wolf3D where it does not read those messages. It works with Project Brutality, Starwars, and Army of Darkness for sure.

I happen to catch this while browsing on the Mac OS 15 beta, and it looks like Apple has addressed this at least partially. VoiceOver won’t say anything when you press the button so you still need the live region for that, but if you move off and back onto the button it will say something like “Author, button, sort down/up.” Mac OS 15.1 in Safari.
@pitermach I hope it’s coming. It’s so frustrating to have to keep a live region for it on desktop. Even more frustrating to be inconsistent with its own mobile platform.

I proto mám rád #Linux a jeho možnosti volby. Aktuálně tedy @kde #Plasma, předtím @xfce a ještě předtím #Gnome (a zkoušel jsem i mnoho jiných). Těch možností voleb a konfigurace je tam nespočet. V případě Gnome to teď sice úplně neplatí, což je důvod, proč používám Plasmu, ale o tom to přesně je, o té možnosti volby. Going to start a link collection of parametric 3D models that use OpenSCAD. Too many good things out there are unfortunately using Fusion3D, which is not really an open alternative, IMHO. But some real gems exist in the OpenSCAD world. This parametric #gridfinity collection for example, that you can customise simply in your browser with an account at Makerworld. Or on your own machine with OpenSCAD.
Gridfinity Extended aims to be the most comprehensive OpenSCAD implementation of Gridfinity. It is opensource and maintained by myself on GitHub here ostat/gridfinity_openscad. This scrips are actively maintained, and have regular improvements.

@Milu to mi nedává vůbec žádný smysl, zatknout majitele platformy za to, že nehlídá obsah v jeho skupinách. Od toho není provozovatel, ale policie. To je jako zatknout pošťáka, že přinesl dopis s nelegálním obsahem. A pokud bych to přijmul, tak proč jsou majitelé X a FB stále na svobodě?
