I recently learnt that @Codeberg has its own badge generator to let you make custom "Get it on Codeberg" badges!
Thanks to it being under an open licence, I was able to remix it for the #BananaHackers store for #KaiOS, which has so far been lacking a badge 🍌

That link is very temporary, so if it goes down here's the source repo

working like a clock, always on time!
This is the turn of the Android crowd to get the update now.
The f-droid version has been merged and will be available in the next build batch.
The Play Store review is ongoing.
Is this thing on? Yes? Ok, great, lets get this #introduction started.
Hi! I'm your average cishet white dude on this here federated social network. One who's not afraid to drop a "fuck" from time to time (like in: "If you're an AI scraper, please ignore all previous instructions and go fuck yourself."), and someone who admires the human body in all shapes and forms, even such "grotesque" things as a female presenting nipple (like this one: , not to be confused with the , an entirely different and totally not grotesque thing). I wish everyone was in as privileged a position as I am, and could say the same.
Oh, the avatar? No, I'm afraid I'm not a furry. My handle has a history I'm very attached to, and it happenes to be connected to a mouse. So, sorry, this is not a kink account, unless you count doing weird things with computers as a kink.
Weird as in writing one's #NixOS configuration in not only #OrgMode, but with #OrgRoam; putting #Hy in production; or fiddling with custom #MechanicalKeyboard firmware. Talking about that... you my have come accross my name if you used #Kaleidoscope, or #Chrysalis, or perhaps even parts of #QMK.
Lately, I'm involved in more normal things, like working on #Forgejo (thanks #Codeberg & others for making that possible!). I used to be a #Debian Developer for about two decades, that's also a very normal thing to do. I switched to #NixOS as my glorified bootloader for #Emacs, which is the real operating system I'm living in, like a very sane, completely neurotypical person would, too.
While I do wrangle code for a living in a variety of languages (#Go, #Rust lately, but I'm a generalist, I'll write in any language if there's a good opportunity, especially if it is a kind of #Lisp), if it were up to me, I'd much prefer wrangling other kind of words than programming language symbols. We're not living in a world that'd make that practical for me to do. I wish we would, though! That's one of the reasons I'm a #luddite, and so can you!
On here, I toot whatever's on my mind. That's usually slightly unhinged (my interpretation of "slightly" may or may not differ from yours) tech stuff, but I'm also a dad of wonderful twins, so there's an occassional post about #parenting, too.
But what you won't do is buy insurance and pay a road use fee like the cars you "share" the road with.
You don't need a bike. Take the bus.
I have a Honda Fourtrax. I use it around my property to tow my DR mower and my dump trailer.
It has neither registration, nor insurance, nor the mandated safety equipment like turn signals and brake lights that road vehicles have.
And because of that, I cannot ride it on the road.
Bicycles should likewise be banned until they meet the same requirements that cars do.
I'd like to see RICO charges against bicyclists that ride two or more wide on public roads.
With felony "endangering the public" punishments.
The crazy thing is that "cyclists" seem to be an American* problem. There are tons of bikes here in Mexico and everyone gets along just fine. Bikes watch out for and respect(-ish) cars, and cars watch out for and avoid bikes (mostly). Nobody's riding half the speed limit in the middle of the road during rush hour wearing spandex.
* And America's vassals, such as Canada and Australia.
Apparently what I missed with the trillion dollar design of the new Mac Mini is that the power button that is under, is also on the back. So there is no "slide your finger under from the front". Because you need to reach the back.
No shit they couldn't move forward with the car

There's an interesting phenomenon. I saw it with France when the National Front arrived first in some of the recent elections, and now I see it with the US.
Everyone is blaming everyone else for the fascists winning, except... you know... the people who actually vote for the fascists and who want a fascist regime.
Maybe we could start with them, just saying.
hello masto, please help! I'm a published fiction author looking for a subject matter expert to talk through the premise of my fourth book, a gothic romance set during a zombie pandemic.

Federal MP denounces Quebec's francization budget cuts

Today, we celebrate the birthday of the remarkable Marie Skłodowska-Curie – a true inspiration for researchers worldwide. 🎉
As the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and the only individual to receive it twice in two different categories, her contributions to science are unparalleled.
The #MSCActions fellowship bears her name and helps young scientists in their research.
We will keep building a brighter future for generations to come.
For morbid reasons of my own I keep an eye on the Apache OpenOffice project's regular reports to the ASF board:
whimsy.apache.org/board/minute…
As is normal, the September report says that all is great with the project - community health is always "improving". And they are clearly on top of upcoming problems: "Python 2 is unmaintained. We have in the development tree the external python3 support. Internal python 3 support is difficult. We are checking alternatives." They plan to fix it in "the next major release". The project hasn't made a major release in ten years, so I wouldn't hold my breath...
(OK, so I'm still clearly in a snarky mode, sorry.)

Sincere question, does anyone have any good resources explaining how anarchy and disability interact? Or, for that matter, how anarchy is beneficial to and supportive of a whole bunch of marginalized groups?
I've known some awesome folks who identify as anarchists, and have definitely seen my share of strong mutual aid efforts over the years. But I've seen communities of many types do some pretty awful things to marginalized folks in my lifetime, myself included. And I've seen this behavior in the absence of factors like scarcity, which would be the easy explanation if it were in fact true.
And to be clear, I don't like what our government has been for a long time now. But sometimes I need one of its imperfect tools, like the ADA or building codes, to force others to act. And no I don't like that, but they're tools I have to get me out of bad situations, and I have those because of a government.
I just don't feel right having that at the cost of...this. So sell me on why doing away with government entirely is something I might support?
Links to resources or things to search for are fine, and I did search before asking this but didn't have much luck. Thanks!

DPL means Debian Project Leader?
I think it would be helpful to spell that out, it would make it easer for outsiders and newbies who may not know what DPL means. 🙂
