The UK has an opportunity to do something popular in loads of countries, whilst learning from the mistakes many of those places have made. I can't agree with the whole slippery slope argument here, not when so many people are literally crying out for this. There are safeguards needed, people in abusive relationships and without mental capacity need to be protected. For anyone unfamiliar with Parliamentary debates, free votes on moral issues typically introduced as a Private Member's Bill like this usually lead to very good debates demonstrating Parliament at its best.
Had to miss an hour for a work call, but the debate so far is very good. Still many folks just reading pre-prepared lines that have already been addressed, but on the whole much more reasonable a discussion than is to be expected of a Chamber including Tories and Reform. I'm very much not in favour of that. That should be worked out in the committee stage, and I hope secular/rationalist orgs campaign heavily through that phase.
I think this is what he meant. A 'registered medical practitioner' may make the first referral to a doctor, and may serve as the independent second assessor if these conditions are met. The language is left open for the Secretary of State to determine who counts as suitably qualified.
So no explicit requirement that SCAM artists be allowed to act this way, but that power being deferred the executive rather than to the House. That'll certainly be amended my the House if not the bill committee.
In 2015 I spent a couple of weeks in Singapore and I still remember sitting at a café and implementing the feature that merges multiple messages into the same bubble.
Today this feature has been removed from #Conversations_im in favor of moving the bubbles closer together. This gives better control over per messages actions such as sharing, quoting or adding a reaction.

It's the story of a school teacher infected by a parasitic critter and the resulting complications of those tasked to retrieve it. it had great father-daughter chemistry, and the internal voice of the main character just kept me chortling throughout.

I want to write my own cross-platform and accessible for blind users #Mastodon client. There are no #a11y friendly clients for Linux (only some TUI software) and there are only one buggy and unstable proprietary client for Windows called #tweesecake. I already know the stack I'll use but I have one problem. I don't know Mastodon well enough to be sure that I implement every feature which is supported there. For sure I can read the whole API reference but maybe there are easier ways, maybe some list of features, maybe some feature guide for developers, etc.
As a blind user I can't just install any popular and cool client and take all features from it... That's the problem: they are not accessible at all or not accessible enough for every day use.
So, maybe someone helps me with some sort of docs or I don't know :D
Answering some of your questions: the language filtering happens at the preferences level, so if you set it on the preferences it will propagate to clients getting timelines through the API. Filters are an API thing (there are two types, client-side and server-side). User recs is also an API feature.
@modulux Yep, it's true. But I'm not so experienced in WX to change something major in twblue source. And also for me it is a kind of challenge - developing my own mastodon client. Kind of a pet project important for my feeling as a developer and gaining some experience in desktop apps.

i use LibreOffice at my work for docs and spreadsheet work. Also use it to generate my Church backgrounds for our livestream and also to transform PDFs into fillable forms as well. It’s an essential tool in the box without the MS baggage of AI stuff and forcing cloud storage of docs. #libreoffice
