one little question from me: how come Thunderbird for Android has telemetry that goes to Google Firebase and there is no option in the settings that I could find that disables this?
Edit: I found out that it was coming from the Google OAuth login, Thunderbird's telemetry can be disabled from the settings but I don't have that toggle because I'm using the F-Droid version which removes telemetry entirely.
i use K9-Mail on Android since ... forever ;) Is the Thunderbird for Android App from the same develeopers as K9? Does it make sense to switch apps? Why do both Clients coexist if Thunderbird for Android is based on K9 and Changes from Thunderbird get included into K9?

Thanks for the update! It's an interesting tradeoff to potentially let a third party decrypt the incoming traffic to get less to maintain yourselves, but of course much better to build your own solution and keep full control. Especially for a critical service.
It would be interesting to learn about first-party #DDoS mitigation techniques that could be used in other projects where #E2EE is essential. However, I suspect the implementation details used for Tuta can't be shared publicly.

Very interesting. I'm wondering whether the use of sanitizers (AddressSanitizer, ThreadSanitizer, maybe UBSanitizer) could replace some of these wrappers. They have a small overhead/footprint and are part of gcc and clang.
This is one of those when you read it you have a facepalm reaction and go about implementing in your long-running test runs... Should of course include an option to force run some tests via commit message tags or similar.
@excds often when one of these tests show a problem I rerun the tests in their entirety locally when working on the fix. The "fixed seed" per month then makes sure that the next CI round runs the same random set and thus verifies the fix properly when merged.
The fixed seed certainly verifies failures found in a test run, but if you add a new test to additionally verify something, it's probably nice to be able to run that newly added test.
Hmm, what about always running tests that were written the last month? Then you would get the benefit of always running the newest tests together with the random ones for different code paths.

V dnešní době se nevyplácí krást mobilní telefony, jelikož mohou obsahovat různé bezpečnostní aplikace. Každý chytrý mobil má již od výrobce funkci pro jeho nalezení v případě ztráty. Funguje to dobře a zachránit to může mobil za několik desítek tisíc Kč. Kam ale tato data o mém pohybu na mapě vlastně tečou? Samozřejmě většinou do Googlu, Applu a dalších velkých společností.
