The last index update triggered a bug in the official #FDroid client, and Basic: you'll see a toast with "not nullable: icon" and the index won't update. We have reverted the related change and working on fixing the bug.

@famfo yes the room creator(s) are effectively BDFL, unless they hand over the room to someone else by letting them upgrade it. we'll explain more next week, but we're confident that this is a net positive over the current mess where admins hand out admins to other users and then can't withdraw it, or de-op themselves and lose control (github.com/matrix-org/matrix-s… etc).

I guess the number of places on the map is just very low relative to what exists in the real world. I had a look at the nearest town and saw no coffee places in the town centre - but a few on the outskirts. I’m guessing it is specifically looking for cafés and not any places you can buy a warm cup of coffee?
