Well. That's not encouraging.

Yeah @frameworkcomputer is a no-go from now on. You're free to take sides. I'm free to tell you to fuck off because of your choice.

I bought a new frame.work 13 last month.
I now regret that.

Not only sponsoring people with utterly hateful views, and promoting others with the same, but now arguing that a 'big tent' approach is somehow suitable.
Not even a hint of an acknowledgement that it might be a bad idea to give hateful people money.

community.frame.work/t/framewo…

I'll take my money elsewhere in future, and I regret the purchases that I have made.

hey @frameworkcomputer, are you aware that Omarchy is headed by racist far-right disgruntled coder who recently upended the entire Ruby ecosystem? is that the stuff you really want to be associated with? jakelazaroff.com/words/dhh-is-…

as foretold for many months, now that v0.20.0 of #GoToSocial is released, we have removed our mirror of the code from Github, and removed all our other archived repositories from there as well

all development has been taking place solely on @Codeberg for months now, we just didn't want to remove our repo from Github immediately when we switched, since people might have been relying on it; so if you hadn't moved whatever mirrors / build systems etc to our codeberg repo yet, you ought to do it

Poll: I have to know, is there *anyone* at all in the UK that wants this 'Digital ID?' I can't vote in my own poll so I'll state categorically that I absolutely do not. Hate the idea on a visceral level.

  • Yes, I'm fine with a Digital ID (0 votes)
  • No, I'm not fine with a Digital ID (0 votes)
  • I'm undecided about Digital ID (0 votes)
  • Something else, I'll reply with more info (0 votes)

Special thanks to the Matrix.org Foundation @matrix for developing the #Matrix protocol and @element for the Element software suite!

The Matrix.org Foundation doesn't develop the Element Software Suite, @element does :)

There is a flurry of other nice clients, such as Cinny, Nheko, FluffyChat and many others so everyone can find one to their liking!

We've just fought #ChatControl - now Ireland 🇮🇪 wants its own backdoor law. 🔓

But we, together with ~40 orgs, are saying no.

Až mě mrzelo, když to potom přestalo fungovat a naštvalo, když mi taťka vyhodil starší dopisy.

Teď uvažuju, že bych začal znovu, i když moje ruština není, co bývala. Jen teď by to bylo

I am somewhat surprised to see frame.work (user upgradable / fixable, if rather expensive, computer seller) setting out its stall in this way, in the face of the concerns raised.

> We deliberately create a big tent ... We don’t partner based on individuals’ or organizations’ beliefs, values, or political stances outside of their alignment with us on increasing the adoption of open source software.

Even if they were considering this solely from a business point of view, I'd have thought that this stance would alienate quite a lot of their target market.

Chat Control

OK open source security nerds, I need your help

I have a podcast youtube show thing called Open Source Security

opensourcesecurity.io/

I'm always looking for guests. Back when I changed formats in January I had a pretty large list of people sent to me as suggestions. I've made it through the list (it took me 10 months)

If you know someone (or are someone) doing open source security work I would love a suggestion. DMs are open and there are other contact things on the website

I especially like guests who are unsung heroes
