My friend from Japan bought me a box of instant noodles created in collaboration with four famous ramen shops there. I picked ‘Hakodate shio’ as I have not found good shio ramen where I live. It was delicious.

Probably better than restaurant ramens in many cities. Many famous ramen chefs in Japan have branched out into offering their kits abroad, so I will be on a lookout for them.

Two Indian reporters from the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project have had their phones targeted with the Pegasus spyware.

The attacks took place hours after the two reporters reached out for comment to the Adani Group, one of India's largest companies.

The reporters were investigating the Adani Group's owners for possible market manipulation by secretly buying their own stocks.

Night trains in Europe are coming back

As night trains are the superior art of traveling, I never understood why in the last decade most train companies dismantled them.
I always suspected a mixture of pseudo-modernism ("high-speed trains are more modern"), lack of cooperation among rail operators of different countries (the European rail system has more of a patchwork than a network) and the conspiracy theory of car and air travel industries lobbying against the most convenient way to travel long distances.

Luckily, follks in Eastern European countries weren't as shortsighted as their counterparts in the other parts of Europe, and maintained their night trains. ÖBB is most active in bringing back night train connections in Europe. Turkyie and Ukraine are good on track, too!

Wusstet ihr, dass es Voicechats auch seit einiger Zeit auch für #Mastodon gibt? Das ganze nennt sich #Audon und kann entweder über die bereits angebundenen Server verwendet werden, oder, ihr setzt Eure eigenen Server dafür auf. Last month, YouTube extended its ad blocker detection to users in the European union.

But privacy campaigners say that the adblock detection techniques used by YouTube (and almost everyone else) could be illegal under the EU’s ePrivacy Directive.

< 14 hours to go before we see the first full-color images from the ESA Euclid space telescope.

In its quest to study dark matter, Euclid will make a 3D-map of the cosmos by observing billions of galaxies out to 10 billion light-years, across more than a third of the sky.

5 images will be released in a ceremony that will include discussions by mission scientists at ESA’s Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany.

Here is Euclid's image of the Horsehead Nebula, aka Barnard 33 and part of the constellation Orion, ~1,375 light-years away.

Observation time: 5 hours
Instruments: VIS and NISP
Size: 8800 x 8800 pixels

"Euclid captured this image of the Horsehead in about one hour, which showcases the mission's ability to very quickly image an unprecedented area of the sky in high detail."

The clarity and detail will only get better next year.
