Back in the day at a previous gig I tried and largely failed to convince anyone that sudden upswings in people sharing detailed instructions about screwing around in the guts of the product should be treated the same as sudden upswings in crash rates: a capital-I Incident that deserves near term attention and careful retrospective investigation.
What is this, if not a user expectation going so badly unmet that people are _happy_ to risk bricking their box to fix it?
