In Germany, some are lucky enough to end up in the Rainbow Wool sanctuary, a biodiverse sheep farm that prioritizes animal welfare, run by Michel Stücke and his partner Jochen. On June 28, 1969, police raided the #StonewallInn, a New York City bar that welcomed the most marginalized members of the fledgling queer "community": young, poor, and #BIPOC #LGBTQ+ people.

Fed up with being on the receiving end of state violence, drag performers, trans and gender nonconforming people, homeless youth, and queer people of color fought back.

The scuffle became a weeklong riot and marked a pivotal turning point in the movement for LGBTQ+ rights in the United States.

I grew-up as a Christian Pastor’s Kid which surely was a struggle for me. Today I got this text from my dad about him performing his first ever same-sex marriage in his career at the age of 67 years old.

He’s been a minister in the United Methodist Church for over 30 years and I can assure you, this was one of the highlights of his entire 30+ years ministering.

He said, “It was one of the most meaningful things I’ve done.”
