the last truly stable currency we had was the Sterling Pound which Sir Isaac Newton set on a stable path for about 200 years. Everything else since has been volatile whether or not you knew about it. If it wasn't volatile there wouldn't be a need for an entire industry built around currency trading.
I did not say how things are, I said how things are meant to be. A currency is meant, under ideal conditions, to be stable (not greatly volatile) and seamless to exchange. A lot of crypto is neither of these things and instead functions/exists more akin to a security: greatly changing/fluctuating valuation vs. mostly stable and constant value + bought/sold/traded over marketplaces vs. exchanged for goods/services/payment.

I certainly remember having to wait for manual transcription at elementary school and found it a frustrating experience. Also, during the Covid pandemic, one of our Braille libraries gave out Braille displays to members, at least a dozen of which I know were to kids that are now just sat around because the parents didn't know any Braille to help them learn to use the devices. SO Sad, So any sort of Braille improvement is a big thumbs up from me.
@cachondo I'm certainly excited about having the Braille eReader from nls! It's definitely really nice and I just would not really be able to justify that type of purchase.. if only I could use brail screen input and type that easily as well! I'm pretty good at QWERTY though. Probably why I prefer the desktop. LOL
Nothing wrong can go with this. From the same people that can't guess I understand another language that English. Or that can't figure out I watched a video on their platform.

well well. Thanks to the Botspot-VM project, for Pi5, I was able to get Windows installed, NVDA started, and now Mist World is running on a little Pi5 overclocked to 2.8 gHZ. github.com/Botspot/bvm Wow. Truly the most versatile device, I could run Linux and Windows in one go, then swap the SD for the Android OS build if I wanted to and add a USB touchscreen. Wow. Amazing. I do think the BTSpeak should have waited for the CM (compute module) 5. It's so so much faster, Pi4 I wouldn't even thinking of Running Windows 11 on with a fraction of the speed it has.
see, if I were Orbit i'd be all over this as an idea. the Orbit Window. In fact, I'd wrip out the guts of whatever they're selling to compete with the mantis and stick a pi5 in. Neat!
@BorrisInABox oh yeah, not surprised there. I guess there's a bigger casing for larger batteries, could be a justifiable argument in some way. The BT Speak didn't have the best battery life, so yeah, a CM5 in that body would tank it, although I wouldn't mind a thicker-cased form that used more battery cells, got a half pound heavier and a little wider but kept a more performant pi either.
This is excellent. If I may ask, is it noticeably slow? Also, I assume you're using an SSD. If so, what adapter are you using, is it USB or some sort of hat?
@techsinger nah, just the built-in SD card. took about 2.5 hours to install Windows this way. not great. 120 MB/S writes at most. Windows itself is kinda like, running on an Intel Celeron. You don't get right away speech fragments when holding down the tab key in the taskbar area for example, but you do get fairly good tabbing in dialogs or other UI elements, and something like device manager can load in 3-5 seconds, so I'm happy with it. :D
First, may I say your examples are a work of art? Seriously, thanks, I understand what it's like in ways nobody else has explained for any other product. One more thing, though. Have you tried it as an NVDARemote client and, if so, is the speed a problem there? I'm sort of hoping it isn't, but would value your experience.
@techsinger yeah, to me remoting in was faster than using RDP directly (Botspot sets up an autoUnattended.xml file, configures it to host RDP on port 3389 for you.) Before getting NVDA I was using it, but ditched it soon after as the sound-send made it less worthwhile even over local network.
@matt it's about 3 times faster - Geekbench 6 scores for pi4 averaged around 500-600, while Pi5 can get 2100-3000 multicore score (if you push the clock to 3 gHZ, which is doable with a good enough air cooler and aluminum case.) Baffled me why BTSpeak wasn't built with better heat management, Pi5 when idling on Windows desktop reaches about 56-61C, and that's with a fan blowing on it, without one the thing would surely throddle and hit the 85C quick.
@sclower LOL true, great power comes with great responsibility! :D I personally don't mind that it needs a 27W USB brick to work. If I could time travel back to 2018, the Pi5 would be considered a flagship CPU. The Pi4, more like something from 2014-2015-ish. It just doesn't work well for things like running Android, Linux desktop (Mate) is usable sure but rendering a link-rich site like a news one with scrolling ads makes Pi4 really show the weak multicore compared to Pi5.
Mist World, huh? I played that thing a long time ago, but it was so P2W that I just pulled out. Has the game gotten better, or is this just one of those "I don't care what it is, this is more of a benchmark than a gaming session" things? In which case, yeah, I've done that before, and trust me, you do not want to run anything more complicated than a single-player BGT/NVGT game on a netbook.
@HunterXWorld haha I think worse! Considering they're now are launching a second server just to pull more cash out of people. Ha. Considering the game uses almost 1 GB of ram, does horrible garbage collecting as it's based on Java8 and is always doing a lot of small RAM reads and writes, the Pi can handle it really well. Audiogames have usually stayed on the lower-side of CPU usage, might be their big advantage here - only about 19-25% CPU is used even on the Pi, something that might be 0-3% on a regular desktop-class one.
@HunterXWorld I wish that more audio games had been developed cross-platform from the start. So many classics would run fine even on a Pi4-based BT Speak, if only you didn't need to have Windows running underneath.

Jenže z velké části už všechny ty informace, které jsou v daných kurzech, znám. 2 dvouhodinové kurzy o OOP jsou téměř totožné. V jednom kurzu jsem úspěšně dokončil všechny kvízy na konci kapitol, ale stejně to po mně chce dokoukat videa. Přetočit je na konec nezabírá. Tak si to dám 2x zrychleně bez zvuku někam na pozadí. Jaký e-learning!

I am having a consistent problem where I am unable to clone everything from this repository into my local machine. Every time I clone using the command line, none of the documentation shows up. only one folder seems to show up and that appears to be the GitHub folder. Windows doesn't allow colons in filenames, but Unix does. Probably your best bet would be to ask BUttondown to rename that file and any others like it.

Oh, on that, I was going through MS Edge settings today (dont ask me why, im suffering enough), and I got confused looking at the setting that read:
"Save screenshots of sites for history. We will take screenshots of the sites you visit and save them so that you can quickly revisit the sites you want by hovering over your history results in the history hub."
My relative sent a large sum of CZK via SWIFT transfer to Revolut to pay for an electric car from Germany. Three days passed, but the payment hadn't arrived. She contacted support, who told her that they don't accept CZK payments and that the payment would be returned to the original account in ten days. She needs to pay for the car ASAP. Upon hearing this, she almost had a panic attack.
Later, we found out that it was an AI bot hallucinating.
@ondra I think this is a little sample of the future of services. It will be increasingly difficult to ge through a maze of AI bots to a competent human who can resolve your problem.
@RezzaBuh after one hour she got to a human who clarified that they accept incoming payments in CZK, of course. The payment has arrived now. It was screwed up by mBank which took from Fri till now to deliver it to Revolut. But the biggest shock was the lying AI bot.
How do you think this works for the company? Did they manage to fire some support staff, save some cash, jump on the AI bandwagon and feel smug & happy about it, or do they actually measure customer satisfaction? If so, is it tanking? Or is it worth the savings perhaps?
@Jan Strnad @Jiří Eischmann Revolut has a british origins. After brexit they have setup subsidiary in lithuania to serve european market. I know this is not helping at all but they are using AI support agents almost since their beginning some 8 years ago or so. Definatelly long before the current AI hipe.
isn’t revolut located in Lithuania for our part of the world? Some time ago one of my friend was sending me small(~200) amount of EURO from Austria. He get a phone call from his bank, with a question. „Do you really want to send money to Revolut or it is scam?” ;)

Okay, I have no idea why, but I just wrote a Python script which takes an 8K 8-bit mono wav file and makes it sound like it's a victim of robbed-bit signaling (if you have no idea what that is, consult Wikipedia).
