@ekennedy80 Having Thunderbird for Android out definitely gets us closer! This is a very loose estimate, but I imagine we'll start actively planning, which will mean hiring an iOS engineer, next year, hopefully towards the beginning.
This typist is an iOS user, so I know the wait is hard, too!
Congrats, of course, but I can’t help but wonder if supporting additional platforms is the right priority when there are still numerous issues with the desktop release. For example, the long-promised message threading and the very broken calendar still need attention!

the migration from K-9 was seamless and easy, just 2 taps. Though the App is now a bit too Android-ish, I think it kind of smoother than K-9? I still need to make used to with the new panel.
I would like to use the function "export to mobile" in the Thunderbird Desktop (Flathub), how can I upgrade from 128.3 to 138.4 which is the precondition to have that function?
I'm planning to install this in place of K-9, but it doesn't appear to be available on APKPure as yet. I'll try my other independent app stores later this morning.

If your email address is using one of the supported domains, adding a Yahoo account should be fairly straight-forward. If your email address is using an unsupported Yahoo domain, you’ll have to manually set up your account.
thank you for the reply. I could resolve the problem already. Once I configured the account on Thunderbird, either manually or loading it from K-9, the browser opens for authentication. I was using Firefox as default browser, with "strict ennhanced tracking protection". I don't know if that's the root cause, but I switched my default browser to chrome only for authenticating and it worked. After my account was correctly loaded in Thunderbird, I switched back to Firefox.

When you install it you'll be surprised. I won't tell you exactly why but migrating was trivial (assuming you have K9 installed). Literally a few clicks.

As long as Tbird doesn’t show account pictures, having the email list showing is fairly useless because there’s no way to keep them apart. I have 2 each of Yahoo + Gmail and besides the “account color” they all look the same.
congrats on the release. But how come the f-droid version of k9 (stable verison) is now "Thunderbird Beta for testers" ? It's not very nice to suddenly be moved onto an unstable release stream.

The other one didn't work, because I forgot to link the available Nginx config into the enabled directory, so the media reverse proxy never actually got activated, then I posted the first one, which generated an ID for it, but it was 404. But when I fixed my oopsies, the ID was still invalid. At least I think that's what the deal is. But I'm glad the second try again one worked.
It kinda showed it as an image, which I think is not your issue. But yeah it worked, after I decided to tell it that, it's media and that it should play it. No idea why image, though. I told youuuuu, stop messing with it. :P
@tardis I wanted to get media storage off the local disks across both instances. Its bad for the SSD, and I'd rather break Linode's, because they have millions to replace it, LOL.
It plays it, but I have to open the link to play it. Like how Go to social did things before they implemented their player, which now makes it work with web clients.
I am pretty sure, though. When gts didn't have a player, all the media attachments people posted via masto were seen as links. You should've seen the mess. Somehow, though, not a lot of attachments. LOL

What is "Amoc" and why is it so important? _________________________________________
The dangers of a collapse of the main Atlantic Ocean circulation, known as Amoc, have been “greatly underestimated” and would have devastating and irreversible impacts, according to an open letter released by 44 experts from 15 countries.
There are indications that Amoc has been slowing down for the last 60 or 70 years due to global heating. The most ominous sign is the cold blob over the northern Atlantic. The region is the only place in the world that has cooled in the past 20 years or so, while everywhere else on the planet has warmed – a sign of reduced heat transport into that region, exactly what climate computer models have predicted in response to Amoc slowing as a result of greenhouse gas emissions.
Another indicator is a reduction in the salt content of seawater. In the cold blob region, salinity is at its lowest level since measurements began 120 years ago. This is probably linked to Amoc slowing down and bringing less salty water and heat from the subtropics.
It is an amplifying feedback: as Amoc gets weaker, the oceans gets less salty, and as the oceans gets less salty, then Amoc gets weaker. At a certain point this becomes a vicious cycle which continues by itself until Amoc has died, even if we stop pushing the system with further emissions.
The big unknown here – the billion-dollar question – is how far away this tipping point is. It is very difficult to answer because the process is non-linear and would be triggered by subtle differences in salinity, which in turn depend on amounts of rainfall and cloud cover over the ocean as well as Greenland melting rates. These are hard to model accurately in computers so there is a big uncertainty relating to when the tipping point will be reached. _________________________________________
