Sadly all of ./play.it infrastructure is currently relying on rsyslog for centralised logging management. If you use something else, and are happy with it, suggestions are welcome.
Right now our top candidates for a replacement are: - syslogd, the original one - syslog-ng (it seems powerful, but its documentation is awful)
Our needs are very basic, mostly we want to be able to tell the logging system to store logs in specific paths based on the process name, like sending rspamd logs to /var/log/mail/rspamd.log or unbound logs to /var/log/network/unbound.log.
Logs rotation is already handled by logrotate, so we do not need the syslog daemon to include the ability to handle that itself.

I have no insight, but I think this definition of "travel day" only affects the Flexi Pass.
In order to use the trains, you must satisfy two conditions:
• Today is a travel day; and • Your card is valid.
The boundaries of a travel day are defined by local midnight, but extend to encompass a train ride started near the end of a travel day. (This means you don't get 'charged' two travel days for one train ride.) This does not affect your card's validity.
Let's say you buy "7 days in a month", that month ends at 23:59 the last day. E.g. July 13 --> August 12 23:59.
i.e. the #interrail pass is not valid anymore after that time. After 23:59 on August 12 it expires.
You have to be home before 23:59 (scheduled time) on the last day of validity period. Night trains are practically impossible on the last day of _validity_, regardless of how many _travel_days_ you have left.

I did it! Today I switched from #Windows 10 to #Ubuntu on my Surface Pro and it mostly works. I still have to work out a few kinks, but I'm really happy. I also managed quite a feat at work and, thanks to a random internet person, learned that there's something called PMDD. Overall, it was a pretty successful day.

My work has exposed me to some truly disgusting behavior on the fedi. There are actual bad people who have committed themselves to harmful and really gross dehumanizing behavior. Just the other day, I had to deal with a white nationalist trying to gaslight me into thinking they were ‘reasonable.’
I find there is an overemphasis on policing the timelines of Black and Brown folks to ignore or even protect the actual perpetuators of harm in this space.

At this point I feel obligated to point out that I recently updated my Framework 13 to the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 mainboard and got 96 GB RAM and a 2TB SSD for it and it's a fscking work monster that I absolutely love!
I also feel obligated to point out that you can save a ton of money by buying the DIY version of the laptop and getting the RAM and storage from somewhere else than Framework, as they are adding quite a lot on top of what you'd pay elsewhere for that.

You could buy many. I just bought an HP laptop with 1 gig and Intel 7 processor for $599 at Costco. I also got an iPad for $299. Costco has a clearance page and you can get great deals on electronics and they also give you an extra one year warranty and their techs are awesome.
Since you're going for DIY, you can probably get a better deal by not buying RAM and SSD from Framework directly, but source it locally; I did this for mine, and both were about a third cheaper. I'd also suggest at least 2 TB SSD if that'll be your primary machine :)
One of the countless companies who need curl for or in their products should surely be able to take some money out of their giant budget to buy this important developer his machine.

Sorry for being late to the party. I suggest you don't include the FW 60W charger in your order and buy a decent 100W one separately. For example, Ugreen, but there is a good selection of USB PD GaN power bricks on the market. The reason being 60W is not enough to power the L13 under load, so you will experience constant jumping between battery and AC power. Source: I own one. Can Mastodon handle crappy, and I mean really crappy quality audio? This is an 8K sample rate, 8 kilobits per second MP3. It's the Samsung washer song, being played by an instrument I made in Surge, the details of which are mostly lost due to the extreme downsampling and lossy encoding.
@talon How can you tell it wasn't transcoded? IIRC, if you feed lame a file and only specify the target quality, which I think is what Mastdo does, it will keep the sampling rate in tact.

I recommend Ente Auth as an authenticator app. Aegis is good, but it's not available on PC. Ente is available on PC ( Linux included ), and it's Open Source.
I ain't any expert in cryptography or blockchain but weren't there some drama about Session removing Perfect Forward Secrecy, stating that Blockchain is enough (I probably simplified that)? Something changed or is it just okay?

Peertube instead of YouTube. The old social YouTube is dead. I do like the fact that you can make lists of your favorite subjects. Maybe Peertube doesn't have that yet. I am sticking to YouTube until there are more people because I love the people and channels there.

I echo other people's sentiments about Brave. I actually didn't know about the owner being homophobic, but the cryptocurrency stuff is what kept me away from them. I also didn't know Session is dabbling in cryptocurrency, but apparently they are, along with, as mentioned, removing perfect forward secrecy from their service(Though I don't think it's that big of a deal by itself, but combined with the cryptocurrency it's odd.). As mentioned Searx doesn't seem to exist anymore, but a fork of it, SearXNG, exists. Another chatting platform I personally use is Briar, it's free and open source. Also for the Discord-types Revolt and the Matrix protocol exist. I haven't had experience with PeerTube, but it does exist instead of YouTube. As for Google Drive, CryptPad doubles as a cloud service and I almost didn't notice you had added it!!! I've used it, it's really good, but I'm really eager to try Tuta Drive. Ente Auth is also a really good 2-factor authenticator. Any other recommendations and even those I mentioned can honestly just be found on privacyguides.org and their forum also has some really good information. I'm also seeing recommendations under this post that I didn't know about. Thank you for this post, it's a nice overview of a lot of services I like, as it's honestly hard to keep track of at times(And that's not necessarily bad, it means there are many alternatives!!!).
Can customers use a locally hosted server to bridge Tuta Mail and Calendars to standard IMAP+SMTP and CalDAV apps yet? Clients (the human variety, not the software) and I need at least two capabilities:
See our old Google- and Microsoft-hosted personal accounts, our work accounts, and our new Tuta-, Mailbox-, or Proton-hosted accounts in a single app UI (or perhaps one mail app and one calendar app) for all accounts.
Using that app—say, Thunderbird—drag and drop all our old mail from the Google or Microsoft mailbox hosting it to the new mailbox. Similarly, for some (myself included), bulk moving many calendar events would be essential.
#1 Is necessary for anyone whose work or life depends on coordinating multiple calendars.
#2 Is the a necessary initial step before closing the old Google- or Microsoft-hosted accounts.

- Firefox is really not a safe browser since Mozilla's latest changes. - LineageOS is not even advertised as a consumer ready product. They do not implement bootloader locking. You would better recommend iodeOS - better youtube alternatives would be PeerTube, Odysee, Rumble, etc
