@menelion It's centralised, it's all the info on a citizen that any hacker would just love to have... I want absolutely nothing to do with it under any circumstances. Nothing! Check out some articles on it and see what you think.
I mean... I get your concerns, but on the other hand, if protected correctly, it's super mega convenient. I would love to have something like that, not to deal with huge amounts of papers like here, not to have various numbers and references in various instances. Don't know, maybe it's because I'm an immigrant and I constantly deal with documents.
I have one from another country. I'm OK with it because the critical data is in my possession, not on their servers. The UK model, like age verification, is a recipe for disaster.
I have a Spanish one, and it's also very convenient. Same model: PKI, you identify yourself the first time you get it and on renewals, keys live in the card, cannot be extracted, and are signed by the state. It makes a large number of things such as authenticating to deal with the public administration a lot easier.

Thank you. As an Irish citizen I already objected to ChatControl by writing to every Irish MEP. I will certainly object to any attempt to introduce any back doors. I do wish, however, that people would stop saying "the EU" or "Country X" wants to do things when the reality is always that some politicians want to do so--and are very likely not to succeed. Ireland doesn't even have a security clearance process for access to govt information--which should be a higher priority.

You're giving DHH too much credit here. The project is BSD-licensed and has a development process similar to many smaller OSS projects. DHH uses/endorses hundreds of these (including Framework itself). Probably thinking about it for less than a minute.

Ne, není, ale ot o nejde. Používám to jako daily driver pracovní mašinu, a na tyhecty kravinky typu "nainstaluju betu a počkám, jestli to další tři měsíce bude stabilní" nějak už není nálada ani čas 🙂
(A na domácím desktopu chci taky raději trávit čas hraním, čuměním na filmy nebo Pornhub, ne rýpáním se pod kapotou...)

@theron29 No, je to jen o přístupu, každý to máme jinak a je to tak dobře. Taky používám Fedoru jako daily driver a na hrátky mám jiný počítač, ten v dílně. Ale každopádně to jak píšeš, že nainstaluju betu a pak čekám zda bude stabilní je fakt blbost, beta Fedory je bezproblémová a pro někoho kdo rád zkouší nové věci a tím pádem nemá rád Vintage distra, které v roce 25 mají kernel max 6.11 a Gnome 46, je Fedora, nebo Arch ta správná volba. 🤷♂️ Není čas, ztrácet čas 😁 @archos @johnny @zoufalec

well well. Got the AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT E-GPU enclosure (using it over OCULink) - works really well through ROCM and Linux! Linux FTW. I can get at least 3-4 words a seconds out of its 20-21 teraflops of power, certainly nowhere near the 100+ Teraflops of Int16 floatingpoint you get on RTX 5060 TI or above, but better than the 15 to 16 you get on the RTX 4060. In my tests it does way better, at least compared to the 780M Radion GPU that's built-in, it's a huge leap forward. Probably a near 3-times jump.
So conservatives are calling for people to drop Netflix because of a few transgender shows they have on the streaming service. These people need to realize these streaming services serve a wide variety of people and beliefs, not just their narrow minded world view. They are not going to just cater to the closed mindedness of a few people who can't be bothered to just change the channel. They are claiming that these shows are pushing a "transgender agenda" whatever that is supposed to mean. They are just TV shows and nothing more, if you don't want to watch them then don't. Now I want to check them out just to see them. I would not have even heard of them if it had not been for some nuts getting their panties in a wad. So Netflix should thank these people for the publicity. Back in my day if our parents didn't want us to watch something you know what they did, they didn't let us watch it. We may not have always agreed with it but the rules were enforced. My folks didn't expect the TV networks to do their job and baby sit us. They were smart enough to know that there were going to be some shows they didn't like so they didn't watch them and didn't let us watch them until we were old enough to make those informed choices on our own. It is time we got back to the days of learning if you don't like something on TV then don't watch it. Stop thinking you have a right to decide what everyone else watches because you don't. These calls for people to drop a certain service or boycott a TV show usually have the opposite effect because they make people curious about the shows. Also most people are smart enough to realize that these shows and services are not pushing some kind of agenda. I mean to shows with straight people push a straight agenda? The whole idea is laughable to most of us. It is simple. If you don't like it, then don't watch it and something else to keep in mind, Netflix was not meant to do your job as a parent. Being a parent means deciding what your own kids watch, not everyone else's. Do your job and don't expect Netflix or any other TV network or streaming service to do it. Being a parent is not their job, it is yours.

@tychotithonus it's not clean, you have to replace all the packages after you change the repos. And then force install the FreeBSD-* packages over the GhostBSD-* packages. It's annoying and it will eat your /etc/passwd and group files. You could break your system I bet, and it would be annoying to have to boot up a rescue disk to repair it, but it went fine for me. I was prepared for surgery if necessary 🥸

@remixman @lerven You're right about that. I'm considering turning off my notifications as well. I've got better things to do than worry about that idiot. He's being a real bully alright. Mona is a great client, but I've noticed it takes a lot of power to run.
@kjsapergia Mona really does use a lot of power, and I'd like to know why/what's causing it. What the hell is it doing?! It's a great app, but I see my battery power drop immensely when I use it. Maybe there are settings we can configure? I'm asking @MonaApp for any advice on how to manage the app.

@DavidGoldfield Oh yeah, I told her today about it. Still today each and every time I need to picture a Windows screen in my head, I have illustrations from her book in front of my mind-view. Absolutely gorgeous work. Now she's doing great stuff also, but for music Braille.

A younger customer wondered what the rectangular slot under a TV screen was for, and asked “What’s VHS?” The proprietor and I looked at each other and laughed, and felt old together.
I doesn't identify the cursor theme that I installed. On my previous OS (which was also Fedora), it was able to do it. I believe since I had it on my root directory, that could be a reason.
