Here's an audio of me demonstrating the new bEStspeak NVDA add-on that @Tamasg made. It works well, and it's cool to have Keynote as an add-on. It's even better than the piper version that he did. It's crazy that sometimes it glitches and makes noises sometimes. But we can't forget to shout out too @rommix0 for making the program as a whole. Speaking of which, at least now we can press F5 and F7 to play and stop speech.

it's 100% ai yes, the existence of the "report to maintainers" paragraph is the final straw imo. (On top of the whole thing being entirely nonsensical)
It could be that the person really did think they found an issue and it seems very likely they did use an LLM to generate the report. Their own comment later, in bad English, is suspicious and seems to corroborate that idea.

I think I followed the discription, but as the CVE-2024-2004 author suggested "in itself a command with no practical use and therefore unlikely to be encountered in real situations." I would go with that :)

In May of 2015, I got a KARP Odyssey. For those who don't know, that's Korg's ARP Odyssey reissue. It's a duophonic analog synthesizer. Fantastic instrument, and I miss playing mine. In December of 2016, I made this version of Carol of the Bells using nothing but sounds generated from the KARP Odyssey. I don't remember how many tracks this used. 40 something, I think. The drums are kind of boring, and in retrospect, I could have done other interesting things, but didn't. Anyway, have this thing.

On this day 4 years ago, I married @missunderstood. We'd been "together" for 14 years and some change before this through 2 years of college, moving from there in with her parents briefly, then into 2 of our own rentals before having a child, to a third place then me finding a job and finally moving to our current home 10 years ago and buying it a few years later.
She honestly balances me in a way nobody in my life ever has. For everything I can't do well, there she is. Someone I can talk to about anything and laugh with about everything. Someone who, despite waking up together over 6,700 mornings, always has something fresh to say, new to learn, and fun to enjoy. I am never bored in her company and almost always surprised by something new each and every day. Our relationship is one of mutual respect for the other. We have a child, and a home, and a life I would never have imagined back before we met almost 2 decades ago. I go to bed every night thrilled to be next to someone like her. I'm not sure I believe in a soul mate. Or a soul, for that matter. But sometimes, inevitably due to the infinite diversity out there, 2 things just click together, intended or no. We do. We love it.
Be good if she posted a bit more on her socials, of course. And nobody told me a wedding meant an annual flower arrangement ...

To be honest it was a lovely day and everything, but we'd been together for so long before the marriage it almost felt a bit tokenistic. It hasn't changed how I feel about her. Tax was nice, until she started working. Could have had that for years before!

tohle je přesně důvod proč většina alternativních OS je předurčena k záhubě. Počínaje WhatsApp konče bankovními aplikacemi. Myslím, že tímto směrem by se měla ubírat nějaká EU regulace. Nejsem úplně zastánce všemožných EU regulací, ale tohle trh nevyřeší tenhle vendor lock přes 3rd party aplikace je prostě otřesný, tohle je přesně důvod proč mám iPhone, pro mě je Apple celkově menší zlo než Google, ale je to můj osobní pocit.
@stepan no to jak vidíte Google také ne tedy alespoň ty co člověk potřebuje já mám telefon jen na komunikaci, banky a web prohlížeč a popravdě radši budu mít Safari než Chrome, na desktopu mám FF. Přičemž by stačilo nějak přinutit veky hráče mít jako povinnost PWA s MVP funkcionalitou. Apple na mě alespoň nějak dělá dojem že mu jde alepoň trochu o moje soukromí, což Google popírá v jakémkoliv směru.
@janantos google právě svými kroky uzavírá systém a v tom se přibližuje applu. Apple pod záminkou privacy hlídá především zdroje peněz. Příklad: Na iPhone je výběr chrome/firefox nebo safari jen o výběru UI, vykreslovací jádro je vždycky jem safari, protože nic jiného vám apple nedovolí spustit. Pod záminkou bezpečnosti si tím hlídá hlavně peníze, protože tím brání např implementaci PWA, tedy alternativnímu zdroji aplikací s financováním jinou cestou než přes Apple pay.
@janantos já se nechci pouštět do války iOS vs Android. Jen mě překvapilo že pod příspěvkem "Revolut zakázal svůj běh na alternativním Androidu" vyzdvyhujete iOS, kde nic alternativního nespustíte vůbec.
tak teď když jsme se pochopili, tak ono moje dilema není o OS, ale o firmě jako takové, a v tuhle chvíli moje subjektivni ručička vah okazuje směrem k Apple, sám Linux používám od 90s a vlastně jsem ho měl i na hodně obskurních zařízeních (psion 5 mx, acer n30 - wince pda), ale v mobilním světě jsme bohužel zabetonovaní, mimochodem i s Firefox OS a Nokia Meego jsem si hrál a oba zemřeli na neexistenci 3rd party apps, pokořilo to i Blackberry
@stepan ja to chápu, ale teď netuším co nechápete na tom co jsem napsal. Mám v iOS na výběr aplikace co potřebuji, to je můj trade off, nakonec i mastodon používám Ice Cubes (PWA) a pak mám nutné messengery a ssh klienta. Me je v podstatě úplně šumák jaký web renderer mám, dokud dělá to co má a to Safari a na linuxu FF a gnome Web (což je btw WebKit - tedy zase “Apple”) a jsem spokojený, moje volba jen říkám, ze reálně máte volbu Google Android nebo iOS
@xdub @stepan Jo to se řekne snadno. Jako že nebudu používat whatsapp když ti používá celá rodina ženy a všichni moji bratranci. Jako abych je přeučoval všechny na signal tak z této naivity jsme už vyrostl, protože oni to používají s dalšími lidmi takže nevidí důvod proč to měnit, když to pro ne funguje, takže já s kratším kusem lana se prostě přizpůsobím nebo budu muset asociálně ignorovat rodinu. Si nevybereš
@janantos Přesně tak. Já WhatsApp musím mít v práci. Ve firmě nic jiného nepoužívají. Nic s tím neudělám, ale zase pořád lepší WhatsApp, než Messenger 😃. @xdub @stepan
Messenger je hlavně propojenej s Facebook chatem a jde teda použít z PC. Je to vlastně jediný důvod, proč jsem do teď nezrušil Facebook. 😅 Ale uvažuju o mostu s Matrixem.
@janantos @stepan No pokud jde o Whatsapp, tak jsem to vyřešil kulantně. V rodině je to OK, protože většinou raději volaj, navíc půlka rodiny se nevzdala tlačítkáčů. Osobně mám telegram a kdo ho nemá, k tomu přichází věta "SMS máme všichni". 😅 V práci se mi o Whatsapp snažili nacpat a já jim na to řekl, že nesouhlasím s licenčním ujednáním Mety. Nějak to skousli a používaj směrem ke mě firemní mail.
@xdub @stepan no SMS nemá sdílení fotek a my používáme whatsapp skupiny na sdílení fotek synka s rodinou s jiné informace. To je holt život expatů co jsou sami v cizině, takhle je jistota že ti alespoň jeden člověk přečte, třeba jako že je synek nemocný tak ať mu večer zavolají video (opět WhatsApp)
@janantos @xdub Náhradou za SMS a MMS mají být RCS. Mělo by to být mnohem bezpečjnější, než sms, lze tím posílat soubory, zprávy i doručenky jak v moderním chatu. Operátoři to umí, android to umí, apple to bojkotuje. Má raději uživatele uzavřené ve svém iMassage. 🤷
@stepan @janantos RCS jsem už párkrát zahlédnul, ale zajímalo by mě, jestli je to standardizované tak, aby to šlo implemantovat i jinam, než jen do androidu...
@janantos @xdub a v čem je ten problém? T-Mobile, O2 i Vodafone je umí. Minimálně s tátou si píšeme přes RCS mezi T-Mobilem a O2 číslem určitě déle než rok.

I wish I could get this eloquence 5.0 dll working in one of the drivers. I just cannot. I don't know how the functions changed from 4.7 to 5.0, obviously 5.0 and 6.1 are different enough that the IBMTTS or other modern drivers cannot load it either.
