Whelp. After successfully monopolizing many types of online chat, Discord has added "AI" to the basic chat feature. *Every* image attachment now has an "AI" button with features to "restyle" or "roast"(??) that image.

It is now illegal to transmit personal information of EU citizens to cloud infrastructure in the #US as they won't be protected by the #GDPR.

Many European service providers will have to move quickly to avoid fines, but eventually #EU data will be held in the EU, benefiting companies in Europe, and supporting #DigitalSovereignty.

That means AWS, Azure, Google and iCloud can lose a sizeable chunk of their customer base if no moves are made. I am all for it.

There are plenty of plug-ins, libraries, and tutorials that will add an “estimated reading time” visual cue to your site. There are also browser extensions for users. Most use JavaScript and CSS to calculate based on word count and viewport position.

And the trend of gaming layoffs and shutdowns continues as WB just closed Monnalyth Games, and cancelled the Wonder Woman game said Studio was working on. Monallyth was also the place where the person leading accessibility on God of War went to work after that game came out, so I was really curious to see how accessible that wonder woman game would be. #OnThisDay, 24 Feb 1968, Jocelyn Bell Burnell - along with her male supervisor and three other men - published a paper confirming the discovery of pulsars. She had built the array, picked up the signal and argued it was not an anomaly. Hewish received the Nobel prize for it in 1974: Bell Burnell did not.

In 2018 Bell Burnell received a £3m prize for her work. She's used it to set up a foundation to improve the diversity in STEM.
